Serenity's got about another 32 hours before they hit Ezra.

The waiting before a job is usually the worst part, and today Mal is feeling it more so than others. He's checking in with the bar when he receives an eyepatch and a watergun the likes of which he hasn't seen since that ridiculous Assassin game in April.

There's a smirk when he shoves the eyepatch into his pocket, hopping behind the bar and scrawling out a sign before asking Bar for a 3' by 5' cloth.



Mal walks out the door to the lake, damn near whistling.

[ooc: I'm on gchat for any coordinating that might want to happen. Uh. It's not a huge boat, but it'll do. I'll put up an organizing post somewhere if this gets people involved.

ETA: This thread is for any arrivals if you are participating in shenanigans.

What ever is that old bilge rat up to now?, Gibbs is thinking. So he makes his way towards the lake and towards the Hope.

What Mal's up to is trying to figure out how to run up a flag on a boat that was never meant to have one. When he stands again he sees Gibbs in outline approaching the boat.

"Good! A decent pirate," he calls out, waving him over.

"No one's ever used the word 'decent' and the word 'pirate' at the once, Mal." Funny...Mal's voice isn't quite right. "What be y' needing with pirates today?"

There's a ship out on the lake already, the Captain of which is standing on deck, grinning out towards Mal.

Mal and any and all guests look back at the other Captain.

"Compensating for something?" Mal cries out.

O RLY?

Will lifts his chin, trying not to grin and almost failing.

"Compensating for what, mate?"

(He hates the banter portion of the fight.)

Elizabeth is neither bored nor in possession of an eyepatch, but she does like water.

And the ship that sometimes appears on the lake in question.

And Mal, for that matter.

Therefore, she gives in to curiosity and makes her way outside. Her pace is not over eager; a notice like that engenders at least a little caution. It is Milliways, after all, and she has no wish to spend today as a puppet or something worse.

"Captain!" Mal calls to the lakeside, the woman approaching. "Here to cause trouble?"

"Captain!" she calls back, lips curving in a smirk. "If I were, I'm not certain it would serve my purposes to admit as much."

There's a skinny red-headed kid of indeterminate gender standing on the shore, wearing - in addition to her usual clothes - an eyepatch, a cheap costume pirate hat with the Jolly Roger on it, and a big grin.

He was about to add a 'miss', but it's better to err on the side of caution in Milliways.

Mal calls out as loudly and clearly as possible to the Captain(s) on the Dutchman.

"We would like to bring the Hope to you for inspection and boarding, as any good pirate should do!"

As for the rest of Mal's crew, they are sitting on the boat, as placid as possible.

Inara is holding a white strip of fabric from her skirt, waving it sadly at the Dutchman. And possibly winking at Mal.

No, a quick look and a rub of his eyes is enough for Jamie to determine that this is not the Dutchman on which he sailed for a few memorable days. For one thing, there are no Dutch monkey-men in sight.

Still, they look like they could use the help, and he reckons if he lends a different version of the Dutchman a hand, it'll sort of be like payback.

(And anyways, it looks like fun.)

"AHOY!" he shouts from the shore, waving frantically. "AHOY THE DUTCHMAN!"

He has no idea who this is.

"Are you up to aiding in the fight against this scurvy crew?"

He has no idea where he picked up 'scurvy' as an adjective. Something's catching in the air.

On the shore, and under a palm tree, sits a ninja happily sipping on a drink festooned with fresh fruit shaded by a little paper umbrella.

Off to the right a fire pit smokes and sputters with the joyous sounds of cooking meat.

Off to the left there's a portion of beach that also smokes and sputters...but for no obvious reason.

The way the Barman sees it to the victor should go the Surf 'n' Turf buffet. Even if the victor is a dirty stinking pirate.
