Xigbar is so not inside today. He's seen those people running around in eyepatches, and talking like Luxord on a bad day. That shit is so not on.

"Half of the people at home are Sime, one in twenty Sime is a channel." Suzi says with a nod, "So approximately one in forty adults. You don't find out your lairity until puberty."

"...Wow. That's uh, huh. So, like, all kids are pretty much the same then?"

"Kids are kids." Suzi agrees, "Puberty starts between ten and sixteen, usually. The longer before it happens the more likely the child is to become a Gen. Sime are all small, have tentacles, and need selyn. Gen tend to be much bigger, don't have tentacles, and produce selyn.

"I'm tall for a Sime female."

"Wait, like, seriously? You're tall? Awesome. So, like, are all Sime as hot as you?"

"Pretty much." Suzi says, "The black hair, blue eyes thing is still kind of rare in the time I work now, but that's because I work about two thousand years before my own birth. The genetics of my base-stock haven't had anything like enough time to become me. I live in England right now? So most of the people are more fair than I am."

She's exotic. She finds that pretty cool, really. "We were predators before we evolved into a much healthier symbiosis."

"Like. Sweet."

It makes Suzi laugh, "Uh huh. I like Whistler better, though. Obviously, since I live in his world instead of my own."

"Well, yeah, but, like. Still. Any chance I could visit sometime when I have biology again?" he asks.

"Maybe." Suzi says after a minute, "How are you with reconstruction of post-apocalyptic societies?"

"Not a clue, babe. Never even considered it; my specialties are kinda more esoteric than that, you know?"

"That's what we're doing." Suzi says firmly, "Pleasure jaunts can be arranged if people can give something back. Right now I'm pretty much single-handedly changing the course of human history by doing my best to give England a firm grounding in Households instead of letting it fall into the Times of Chaos, but there is only so much I can do.

"The channels I'm training are going out as fast as we can send them, but...well."

She's small. She's delicate. She's genuine, and a genuinely cheerful woman. Anyone who thinks she's weak is an idiot. "The fewer people that get killed or murdered the better. Seeds, farming techniques, communication techniques, transportation. We need those things. We don't really have enough to support visitors who can't help us develop more."

"Well, I can understand that, I guess. Get me a report on like, your magic and technological level, and I'll see what I can do," he replies.

"There isn't any magic." Suzi informs him, "It stops working as soon as it gets to that universe. Completely devoid. As for technology, um." She pauses, thinking.

"What. Wait. Like. No magic at all? Not just, like, a lack of functional mages, but no magic? How the hell does your world work babe?"

Suzi says, "Don't look at me, I'm a channel who works as a jeweller when not in that world. What I know about magic could fit in a thimble. With extra space. Um. We were at an early twenty-first century level with aeroplanes and things like that, but now we're pretty much dragon'ed into the bronze age?"

"Lame," he expresses. "Okay, right. Uh. Yeah. dunno if I can do much for you. Remind me when I have a heart, and can actually like, you know. Give a damn. Kay?"

"Deal." Suzi says with another of those brilliant smiles of hers, "And I'll let you know when I find something out."

She will find something. It may not end up being useful, but she'll find something.
