Xigbar is so not inside today. He's seen those people running around in eyepatches, and talking like Luxord on a bad day. That shit is so not on.

"Yeah, he would" Xigbar agrees. He opens the bottle, and takes a drink.

"Anything interesting happen?" Xaldin asks, "I detailed a Dragoon for Billy's lover. They're headed into war and Billy was nervous."

You do for your allies.

"Met this hot babe earlier. My height, totally stacked," he says. "But, like. She's monogamously involved."

"Figures." Xaldin says, pacing around in the air slowly, "As much of a bitch as the last one?"

"Nah, she was totally cool, even if she is another one of VIII's friends."

"Why are almost all the hot ones friends of VIII?" Xaldin asks with a groan.

"Dude, I don't fucking know," Xigbar grumbles. "It's like, not fair, man."

"I know, Xigbar." Xaldin says with well feigned amusement, "I know. One of the bartenders is hot, though, and she didn't seem to know him. Faye. The one who brought booze to the party."

"Sweet. I guess he can't know all the hot chicks in this place."

"There are at least two." Xaldin agrees, brushing Xigbar's ponytail lightly on one of his passes.

It's not a good month - it's really not a good month, and Lexaeus promised to help as much as he can - but Xaldin doesn't plan on saying anything about it to Xigbar.

"Two's a start, man."

Xigbar takes another drink of Atlantean, because damn if it doesn't help his lookout on the morons around today.

"Two is totally a start." Xaldin agrees, "We just have to get you talking to them, too."

"Yeah," Xigbar agrees.

"Hey, dude, you should totally woosh us through the Moebius strip again. It'd be pretty rad."

And get them out of range of the idiots.

Xaldin laughs, just a little bit, "Woosh?" he asks, even as the wind picks up to send them toward the fold in space.

"Woosh," Xigbar repeats, gesturing for emphasis.

"You? Are trashed." Xaldin says.

It should be fondly.

It would be fondly.

But.

Xaldin sets up a counter wind on the other side of the fold to ping-pong them through it repeatedly.

"Totally," he agrees.

The process would probably make anyone else nauseous at the very least.

For Xigbar, it's something that's as close to real fun as he can have.

Xaldin doesn't mind doing this. He has the teleportation from world to world with Xigbar. It may not count as fun, but it's close enough.

There is a second of freefall in between the two wind fronts, and Xaldin closes his eyes for that every time.

It's relaxing, and it helps him to not think of all the things in his head right now. That moment of slip as space loops back on itself pushes his mind into the same pattern.

When he realizes that Xaldin puts for the effort to make the slip as predictable as possible, settling it into something as close to a Zen rhythm as he can.
