So, she's never walked downstairs from her room and had her clothing suddenly change before. Jenny hasn't left Milliways since the disaster on New Thal and every day has been about the same for her: running, reading, studying, spending time with Bart if he's around.

But clothing changes? Yeah. So very new.

Her eyes glance downward at the change. Her trousers are now practically skin tight and laced up the side of her legs, exposing her pale skin. Black boots go up just to her knees and that white shirt she's wearing is too tight, too short, and too low cut. There are heavy gold braces on each wrist and her eyes widen.

Hands go up through her hair, now down and partially braided. There's some sort of cloth covering it and she wrinkles her nose.

But when Jenny sees the sword hanging off her waist, her eyes light up. Brilliant!

Jenny beams at him and, as gently as she can (which is to say not very gently at all), probes at his mind.

She's been practicing the best she can with Bart. But she's still not good at this at all.

There, she thinks loudly (probably too loudly). Just think and I'll hear it, okay?

: Do you think you could, uh, think less loudly? Maybe? I didn't know she--oh, you, sorry--had this power? Oh, this is going to take some getting used to. :

Immediately, Jenny lets go and cuts the concentration.

"I'm still learning," she says quietly. She hadn't meant to shout at him. "It's really difficult to control a lot of the time."

Teddy nods, with a reassuring smile. "It be fine, Jenny. Don't be worryin bout it. Have ye always had this powarrr?"

...It is really hard to sound like a sympathetic pirate.

"It's not a power," Jenny insists with a small, stubborn pout. "It's normal for Gallifreyans."

"My 'pologies. I be used t'callin em powarrs because of me parlance back home. Did it just show itself, matey?"

She nods, grinning a little. It happened on the same day she killed Voule, which ruins it a tad. But, still, it was something she discovered with Bart.

From the way her eyes light up, it's kind of clear who she's thinking of.

"Yeah. While Jay and I were hugging. Kinda brilliant, isn't it? The touch telepathy?"

"Aye. That it be. It must make things interestin' between you two, yea?" Teddy smiles.

Jenny nods eagerly, giggling sappily.

"Oh, it does! I really like over hearing him when he's thinking about me."

She blushes a little, shrugging bashfully. Jenny does remember what Donna told her about TMI, but that doesn't necessarily apply to brothers, does it?

Thankfully for Teddy, the conversation takes an innocent turn.

"Did you know he loves me? He told me during our picnic with Edward."

"Really? That be a gud turn with him. I be glad for ye. I cud tell, when I talked t'him last night. I'm glad yur together, and I told'im so." He gives her a hug, his happiness for her showing through the hug, and the look on Bart's face.

Her thoughts leak through as he hugs her: happiness that Teddy likes Bart, happiness that Bart loves her.

It's mildly overpowering, although Jenny doesn't realise it as she returns his hug.

"Thank you! I love it. It's almost as good as running, I think. Having Bart around."

That's ok; Teddy likes happiness. He understands love.

"I know whatcha mean. I dun know what I would do without havin' Billy around'teh keep me head on."

The pirate speak is actually mildly frustrating. Jenny frowns a little, taking a step back and eying Teddy curiously.

"Are you sure you can't speak normally?"

"I be tryin' t'speak like a landlubber, but it seems t'be the standarrrd of t'day. Wait--hold down t'fort a second."

He whispers something to the bar, and a voice changer shaped like something Jenny might be familiar with (http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/cubegoodies/A929%20/) appears. It recieves a scowl from Teddy, however.

"I be not sure that contraption be any betarrr, Barrr."

It's nothing Jenny's familiar with. Daleks don't exist for her, not yet. She stares at it, confusion growing.

Landlubber? Contraption?

"What?"

"It be--" Teddy puts it on.

"I can talk like-a normal person EX-TER-MI-NATE! No more pi-rate speeeeak!" Teddy's voice comes out rather staccato and electronic. "Is this al-right?"

Jenny giggles, clutching her sides as she laughs. She's really not sure which sounds more ridiculous: the pirate speak or this.

"I think Bar definitely has a sense of humour today!"

"I think you are right Jen-E!" Teddy sighs, which, thankfully comes out human. "How much long-er do you think it will last."

"I don't know," she answers honestly. "I've never experienced anything like this before."

"By mid-night, may-Be? I don-T want this to last."

"I don't think everyone is talking funny, if that helps. I'm not."

"Then why am Iiiiii?" He wails, the electronic sound horrible compared to a normal human voice.

Jenny shrugs, wincing at the sound the voice synthesizer makes.

"I don't know."

Teddy leans onto the bar, crosses his arms and lays his head on them.

"It-Ts not fair. O-oh Well."

It's not fair. Those words remind her of the conversation she had with Cavilo. She hugs herself tightly as memories of Voule's death come racing back.

"Yeah," she whispers. "But it could be worse."
