So, she's never walked downstairs from her room and had her clothing suddenly change before. Jenny hasn't left Milliways since the disaster on New Thal and every day has been about the same for her: running, reading, studying, spending time with Bart if he's around.
But clothing changes? Yeah. So very new.
Her eyes glance downward at the change. Her trousers are now practically skin tight and laced up the side of her legs, exposing her pale skin. Black boots go up just to her knees and that white shirt she's wearing is too tight, too short, and too low cut. There are heavy gold braces on each wrist and her eyes widen.
Hands go up through her hair, now down and partially braided. There's some sort of cloth covering it and she wrinkles her nose.
But when Jenny sees the sword hanging off her waist, her eyes light up. Brilliant!

"Arrr! I did not mean ta'be sayin' such a thing. Please forgive me." Teddy's got this look on his face which telegraphs total confusion at his similar attire: brown, boots, white shirt (not as tight but certainly as
low-cutbreezy), and tri-corner hat. Also, the live purple parrot on his shoulder.no subject
"Teddy? What's going on?"
no subject
He pauses.
"I be not tryin' to talk like this, me matey. It seems ta'be some sorta magic. I think thar's a day called 'Talk Like a Pirate Day' where I'm from on this day, yarrr."
no subject
"...what?"
no subject
Teddy takes out a pad of bright green sticky notes from one of the pouches on his belt, and a pen. On it, he scribbles:
I seem to be incapable of talking normally. Ugh. Anyway, this is like, some kind of minor holiday in my world, called 'Talk Like a Pirate Day.' And since Bar likes to take holidays to the extremes, or so I hear... I guess that's why everyone's dressed like a pirate. Sorry.
He hands her the note, and places his hand on the Bar. A Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy conveniently pops up, and opens to a page entitled "Pirates."

And they get to carry swords!
She laughs and holds out a hand towards Teddy. "I have something that can help with the talking. If, um. If you trust me."

She's been practicing the best she can with Bart. But she's still not good at this at all.
There, she thinks loudly (probably too loudly). Just think and I'll hear it, okay?

On.
Nothing in particular.

Jenny turns around when she hears it. And sure enough, there's her boyfriend by a booth not too far away. Jenny beams and waves before she starts to walk over.
Bounce, bounce, bounce goes her chest as she walks over. It's totally an outfit that leaves little to imagination.
no subject
Ahem.
So he'll just be, um. Over here.
Waiting innocently for his girlfriend.
Yep.
no subject
But that doesn't explain one thing: why he hasn't looked away yet. Concentration like that from Bart, she's certain, is kind of rare.
"What?" Jenny asks, suddenly feeling a tad self-conscious. It's an unusual feeling for her. "Do I have something on my face?"
no subject
And then, "-No! No, you look gorgeous."
AND VERY DISTRACTING.
no subject
"Really? I've never dressed like this before. I still don't entirely understand why I'm dressed like this. Teddy's clothes didn't show this much skin."
no subject
Of course, Bart is biased.
"But, uh, I don't know what's up with the costumes, either."
no subject
She maaaaaay be fishing for compliments now. What? They're nice!
Jenny will, of course, also help to answer questions. "It's Talk Like a Pirate Day. At least, that's what Teddy said."

Edward's recently appeared but he's been glancing over the room the last minute or two since being refitted, but Jenny was the latest person he found in that crowd.
no subject
But she waves cheerfully, walking over and giggling when she stops in front of him. Dashing. Edward looks very dashing.
"It suits you!"
no subject
"And you've been similarly suited by the colloquial costume regiment."
no subject
"I don't understand why all the boys I've seen are more covered than me." Her nose wrinkled. "And I don't think covering your eye is necessarily all that smart."

She loved it.
"Yeah, well. Happy Talk Like a Pirate Day, Edward! You Earth-people have weird holidays."
no subject
It really was.She gets an odd expression. "I didn't chose it."
no subject
Jenny looks doubtful.
"But you're from Earth."
