Aug. 21st, 2013 12:23 pmIt is winter in New Arcadia, and Rae doesn't approve. She approves even less of curfews that require everyone under sixteen to be home by sundown, especially when sundown in just two hours after school ends.
So that might be why there is a ten-year-old girl stretched out on one of the big boulders by the lake, soaking in the summer sun as she reads terrible tales about vampires and demons.

Aug. 21st, 2013 01:40 pm[oom: If you go out in the woods tonight, you're sure of a big surprise.]
Stiles is starting to regret leaving Scott behind in the Preserve the other night. He doesn't know what bit his best friend, but he does know Scott suddenly seems to have superpowers. The stunts he just pulled out on the lacrosse field? That's not normal. And okay, maybe Stiles was kidding when he first suggested lycanthropy, but Scott's still convinced about hearing a wolf howl, and there are definitely no wolves in California... werewolves is starting to seem like a possible explanation after all.
The very thought shakes his long-held belief that his world is one of the boring ones.
If he's going to be sure, he's going to need more to go on than a hunch, and he doesn't think the Beacon Hills Public Library is going to have the right books to help him out—Harry Potter and Twilight definitely don't count—and with the full moon only hours away he doesn't have a lot of time.
Luckily, the Milliways library has everything. He grabs a stack of useful looking volumes and lugs them back downstairs where he can spread them out over a table, wash back a second does of Adderall with a glass of Coke, and settle in for what'll probably be a long night of research.

Aug. 21st, 2013 08:27 pmUnder normal circumstances, Matilda's fairly tolerable of her parents. Sure, they tend to leave her alone most weekday afternoons and sure they don't always use the nicest of language around or at her, but her system of creating pranks has leveled off the playing field in her humble opinion. Unfortunately, being sick-as far as she's concerned-isn't normal circumstances. She feels achy and stuffy and wants to be held. Does her mother take the time to spend the day with her sick daughter? Of course not, because she has bingo money to win back and goodness knows she doesn't want to catch her daughter's cold.
It's for this reason that Matilda's in Milliways, still in her pajamas and robe but with the large, rainbow colored blanket around her its hard to tell. She should be in bed, she knew this, but for some reason the empty house always seemed less favorable when she was sick and atleast Milliways seemed inhabitable and Ms. Bar much nicer than her mother-who was still human.
She makes her way over to one of the large sofa's by the fire, curling up with her blanket. She says nothing, but a note along with some toast, tea and kleenex appears on the small table infront of the sofa. She gets up enough to pull the table over closer and read the note.
"Thank you.." It's all she could manage to say before it's back to being curled up on the sofa.
ooc: one sick child in serious need of some one to take care of her-someone human shaped/ish. ATP is over but still expect some slowtime.
