Buffy is consuming delicious pineapple smoothie by the fireplace, and people-watching. And ... other species-watching. She's inclusive. (Is that a balloon?)

"Because my master serves the Humans, and I do as well," she said, "It's either that or I die."

"'Splainy?"

"I don't understand it myself," said Seras.

"Die...how? Do you know that?"

It's kind of disturbing, as non-people-eating situations go.

"I could get shot through the heart or the head," she said, "So, yeah, dead."

"-- Okay, so you don't eat people because someone will kill you if you do?" That makes a relative amount of sense.

"Yes," she said, "And I actually like some humans as friends rather than food. THat is another reason not to eat people."

Back to perplexing! "Not a bad one," she agrees. "Not a very usual one, either, where I'm from. Are there a lot of vampires like you?"

"I don't know," she said, "Most of the ones I have met were bastards."

[stillbecoming]

"Hm."

She pets the kitten, carefully. "Well, that makes two of us."

"But you know Angel!" said Seras, "He's not a bastard!"

"Well," says Buffy, pettily, "that's a matter of opinion."

[flail_victoria]

"Why what did he do?" asked Seras suddenly and looking rather pissed off, "Need me to beat the crap out of him for you?"

[stillbecoming]

"What?" She looks startled. "-- No! No. I was just...no, that's really okay. I can do my own crap out of beatings. Not that I'm going to beat up Angel."

"What did he do?" pressed Seras.

Well, he dumped her. And moved to L. A.


"...He's just kind of...you know, he never talks about how he feels about something," Buffy says. "And he's always deciding what's best for people without consulting, you know, people. And not telling people when he comes to people's town, which, when he then has the nerve to complain when people show up in his city, is kind of --"

She stops.

"I didn't mean he was the kind of vampire that eats people."

"But he hurt you," she said, "I mean, i can tell that from how you are acting."

She was quiet.
