tattling: (reading is fun (totes))
[personal profile] tattling
A small blond boy (in jeans and a t-shirt) sits in a booth, sipping a chocolate milkshake and picking at fries.

It might seem like he's reading, well, any middle school book appropriate to the character who sees him.

But he's actually just playing the new Pokemon game on his 3DS.

Katya marches into the bar already riled.

Her jewelry, usually so cheerful, rings in sharp staccato beats like the falling of machine-gun shells.  She moves through the bar like a tempest, disappearing up the stairs.

She's back again in minutes, a heavy sword slung over her shoulder.  She stops at the Bar for only a moment to collect a bottle of vodka, and then heads out back.  The pells will take a beating today, certainly.

Bonnie comes into the bar, with beer, and a large poster she's been busy making in the back of the shop lab.

So it's a little early, but people got to have time to grow stuff, right?

She then settles down in a booth, with a cider, and a box of bird boxes made by her eighth graders. The first one she picks out is practically a mansion, complete with painted on doors, windows, curtains, even down to the letterbox... sadly the creator has failed to put a hole in it for the birds.

Dad had suggested that as a new gardener, Fry start with a three by three foot plot.

So he leaves a message for Lucas at the bar, after converting this into new money on Dad's iPad.

'Dear Lucas please may I have 8361.3cm² to grow plants in?
Fry'

Then he sits with a red book, flicking quickly past the bright colour, and a felt tip pen, and turns to the growth chart for his little brother. He knows about growth charts because he filled one in for his chicken, and he knows Dad said that Gil was too little. After looking at the chart for a minute, he uses the felt tip and puts dots on it going up and up, so that Gil would be the tallest toddler in the world in a few months.
