and any drink free for a ghost story

"We have walls."

Lorne laughs softly. "Perfect! Now we just need a roof, and we're all set."

"The roof will happen. That's a two-man job."

"Guess I better stay a while then, yeah?"

"Yes, please," Jack says with his most 'oh, that would be lovely' expression.

Lorne smiles and kisses him again. "Okay," he says softly.

"Good. Not just for the building, of course," Jack adds with a smirk.

"No? Got other plans for me, babe?"

Naughty smile? Maybe a little.

"Maybe," Jack says, straightening up again. "Drink your pie."

"Yes, dear," Lorne murmurs, still smiling. He sits back and takes another sip.

Jack smiles and starts polishing a glass.

"We'll have the place done in a few weeks," he remarks. "And then we can figure out furniture."

"Bed first," Lorne says, watching Jack with a contented smile.

"The most important thing," Jack says, nodding.

"Big and comfy," Lorne says, nodding in agreement. "Should we get linens from Bar, do you think?"

"I think the only other option is to weave them ourselves, and my knowledge of sewing ends at buttons."

"Yeah, I can patch a tear, but that's about as good as it gets."

"Unless you know someone who isn't bound and wouldn't mind buying some for us? And he or she could put it on my tab and I'd work it off, or something similar."

Lorne shrugs. "I could probably find someone to do that for us, but I bet Bar would come up with something good for us."

"I bet she could too." He gets a quiet sort of smile. "We're planning our house. I never thought I'd see the day."

Lorne smiles as well and touches Jack's face gently. "Neither did I, darlin'."

"I've heard of people doing this," he says quietly. "Setting up house like any regular married couple. Everything but the kids."

"It's more common in my time, I think," Lorne says. "Some places you can even actually get married."

"Seriously?" He frowns a little. "Why?"

It's just that foreign to him.

"Why do they get married? Or why can they?"

"Both, really. I can't imagine any pastor I've known officiating a wedding like that, for one thing."
