Hel is outdoors, sewing a new glove for herself. It's fairly hard to miss her, if nothing else. She always welcomes those who would speak with her.

"So? Like, half of you is hotter than the whole of most chicks," he points out.

"And I have been told that it would be less horrifying if it were less beautiful, when matched against my dead half." Hel says without much bitterness.

He shakes his head.

"Babe, you don't give yourself enough credit. You need to stop hanging around people who suck, and spend more time around people like me, you know?"

"You mean very little people with no hearts?" Hel says mildly, glancing down at him. "None could stand my home."

"I may not have a heart, but I still have an eye," he says. "And I know hot; trust me babe, I dated enough of it."

"The half of me does not excuse the other half."

"Babe, the universe couldn't handle you if you were all hot," he says.

"Your attitude must have garnered you a great deal of sexual conduct when you had a heart." Hel murmurs after a moment, working eyebrow raised.

"Never had like, less than three girlfriends," he replies. "But I never make things up, you know?"

"Mmmm."

Death goddess does not believe you, small Nobody.

"What, you think I'm like, lying? Why the fuck would I bother?"

"I do not know why you would lie, but one does have to balance experiences against compliments, little one." Hel says softly, "And in aeons you are the only person to have ever said such things to me."

"Then babe," he says, quite seriously. "You've spent aeons surrounded by complete assholes."

"Mostly dead people." Hel says, "And their minds only last a year. Then they get very, very, very stupid. On the level of needing to get dusted."

"That could also be part of your problem," he points out.

The sun overhead is moving on, heading from noon into afternoon.

"It would not be exile if it were pleasant." Hel points out dryly.

Very dryly.

Very, very dryly.

"Yeah, but like. You obviously don't have to spend all your time there," he says.

"Milliways or there." Hel says with a shrug, "My options are limited."

"Like I said babe. Any time you wanna like, check out someplace warmer? Just let me know. Kay?"

Hot babes should not be left to mope about how not-hot they are.

"Should you be around, I shall." Hel agrees.

She doesn't tend to mope. She has things to learn.

It looks like moping to him. But Xigbar's the kinda guy who likes to have fun, no matter what he's doing.

"Cool."

Hel is the proverbial still waters running deep.

With sharks in.

"I'm gonna go catch a wave," Xigbar says eventually. "But we can stay as long as you want, kay?"

Not like he has any pressing business elsewhere right this moment.

"Enjoy." Hel says, nodding, "The warmth, well. Tell me when you need to leave, because I have all the time in my world and the warmth is amazing."

"Will do, babe," he replies, as he strips out of his leathers, leaving only the loudly colored swim trunks he wore under them, and pulled his (compressed) surfboard out of his coat pocket.
