Demeter has spent many of the past days in the infirmary watching over Carlotta and she's taking a small break over by the fire.

Her legs are curled up under her and she's staring into the fire, thinking about what Kore was like when she was that young though her hair was never quite that curly.

"You should rest, though, in between seeing her. Even if you don't need sleep, per se."

He smiled at Demeter, glad that at least this friend was alright.

"I know and I'm trying to."

"That's good. You're a good friend to all of us."

"I try to be. How are you and Teja doing?"

"Very good," he smiles. "We fell asleep together, as cats; it was odd to wake up with someone there, but I'm very happy, with him."

He set the teacup down, hugging her lightly. "I'm glad you gave us the opportunity."

"That's one of the greatest joys of having someone in your life. You found each other, I just helped a bit."

He chuckled at her, resting one arm on his folded legs. "You helped a great deal, in a lot of ways."

"Then I'm glad I was able to."

"So am I. Teja's learning how to lighten up, at least..."

"Good, he has a beautiful smile and should use it more often."

Charlie grins at that. "He should do that with a lot, truth be told."

"I agree and I'm sure you're finding out how to make him smile and laugh."

"Not exactly how I expect to, but he's getting there. He had a hard life, and doesn't show it easily."

"No, he holds a lot inside."

"I keep wondering if there's a way to fix that...and then what in the world I'd want him to do that for." It's natural for Charlie to want someone to open up and share whatever they like, but he's finding the exact opposite with Teja.

He likes the game of finding everything out, slowly.

"Perhaps you could still teach him to tell you a bit more, not change all of himself but talk more."

"Maybe. I plan to, when we're closer."

Closer to what, he doesn't know yet.

"You don't have to rush anything or do anything if you don't wish to."
