(no subject)

The door opens, and a woman with long dark hair and a short black dress steps in.

Well, really, that's technically only partly true. But it's probably close enough to accurate. Workable, at any rate.

She stops and looks around. This doesn't feel like any bar she's ever been in before, and, darling, she has been in a lot of bars. Desperate people do like to drink, and a week in a bar here or there, that's like picking ripe fruit off low-hanging branches.

Well, well, well. Isn't this . . . interesting?

[OOC: If you're the sort who's good at recognizing demons, feel free. If you're not, though, chances are she's just going to come off as young human woman. Questions, etc., ping elsinorequeen.]

"No, I'm pretty sure you're not wrong," Momiji laughs.

Thankfully, the classic line seems to work inter-dimensionally.

"You've never been here before?" he adds, all curious. The calm ones are always the weirdest newbies, after all!

Also: "Want a cookie?"

"Yeah, Milliways is really memorable." The boy nods enthusiastically, before holding the plate out towards her, so that she can claim one of the small, powdered sugar-coated treats.

"It's a magic bar that sort of pops up places, whenever it wants, all over, in different people's worlds! If you're lucky, you get a door where you can come here, whenever you want and visit. It's neat."

[identity profile] candied-rabbit.livejournal.com 2009-01-14 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
"Mmhm! Just about everyone here's from a different one!"

He snags a cookie of his own, nibbling at it as he chats with the womam. (In the process, he sidles over towards the border of the booth nearest the door, leaning against it like a makeshift seat.)

"I know it sounds kind of crazy, but that's just how it works! Mm, and you can ask the Bar up at the front for just about anything, and it'll give it to you - it just sort of pops up."

He's never had cause to ask for any of the things that Ms. Bar won't dole out, so he doesn't actually know that she won't.

"She takes whatever money you have, I think! Like, I just pay with yen from home, and people from other worlds pay with a lot of different stuff - gold and silver, even, sometimes."

Obviously, using gold and silver for money is quite impressive, in his eyes. It's like something out of fantasy comic! (Or a history book, but those are gross, so he's sticking with the first one.)

"And she'll keep a tab for you, if you don't have money on you - and your first drink's free!"

"Uhm...well, I got a milkshake. They're really good, here!"

Still, his slightly sheepish expression says he's aware that this might not be what someone of legal age might crave, upon happening across the place.

"I don't really know, besides that."

[identity profile] candied-rabbit.livejournal.com 2009-01-14 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, sure!"

The rabbit-boy seems quite happy to see his suggestion taken up, and he puts one foot out in front of him, before swivelling on his heels, so that he's pointed towards the Bar. After a brief pause, he starts to stroll in that direction.

"I'm Momiji - ah, Momiji Sohma. Nice to meet you."

[identity profile] candied-rabbit.livejournal.com 2009-01-14 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
"Aw, well!"

He just smiles and puts one hand behind his head, shrugging and then hopping up onto a bar-stool, when they get close enough for him to do so.

One quick order later, and a frosty glass containing what happens to be a chocolate-and-coffee-flavored milkshake is settled in front of him, topped with a big spray of whipped cream and a cherry.

"There're a bunch of new people all the time, though. Most of them act like it's a lot weirder than you, too, so..."

[identity profile] candied-rabbit.livejournal.com 2009-01-14 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't think there's a normal reaction. A lot of people just go really still and stare, and other people panic..."

Momiji scratches thoughtfully at his chin. He had been in the "go quiet and wander around" crowd, a variant of the first group, most likely.

"I met this one girl here, a few days ago, who'd just found the Bar, and she thought the whole thing was an illusion. Not many people do that, though."

Which, if he were a reasonable teenager, he'd find stranger than he did the girl in question.

[identity profile] candied-rabbit.livejournal.com 2009-01-14 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"Mm, yeah, but everyone I've met kind of gets used to it, sort of? Everything here seems really real, even if it's kind of crazy!"

"Really real" is not a very meaningful statement, but he's a teenager! He's allowed to yammer with relatively little clarity.

"Anyway, all the stuff here's too cool to be an illusion."

[identity profile] candied-rabbit.livejournal.com 2009-01-15 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
"...Nah, it's too cool for that, even."

Momiji has no need for your logic! Awesome stuff is awesome, therefore it must exist!

[identity profile] candied-rabbit.livejournal.com 2009-01-15 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Uhm! Oh, that's hard..."

The boy laughs, taking his lips off of the swirly straw that rises up from the rim of his milkshake's glass. When an answer doesn't present itself immediately, he even turns half-around, facing her properly.

"Just the people, I guess! They're all so different, and talking to them is a lot of fun. And sometimes you just meet people you really like! And the places they're from are still so different...that's the best part."

[identity profile] candied-rabbit.livejournal.com 2009-01-15 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, I don't think you could ever run out of people to meet, here, so!"

He beams at her, all happiness and light, at the moment.
