Gert and Old Lace are eating dinner at a table - well, Gert is at the table, OL is eating raw liver from a bucket on the floor. Gert herself is eating miso ramen  and sipping green tea.

They are not adverse to company.

"Now now, she doesn't know what we are."

Gert raises an eyebrow. OL is almost at breaking point and Gert really doesn't want to fight.

"I think it might be best if you left us alone now." Her voice is hard as steel and doesn't falter, and she's mentally gearing up for an attack, just in case. If they thought she would be an easy target, they thought wrong.

"Oh, don't worry. We're not going to start anything."

"Not with you."

"Although your pet does seem to be getting a tad anxious."

"Smart girl."

"She's a good judge of character," Gert says, standing up.

"Come on OL. Let's go because you get us into trouble."

Gert turns to leave and the dinosaur turns to got too, but not before one ladt warning snarl to the two men.

Vandemar snarls back, sounding more like a wolf than a human.

Croup just laughs. "See you around."

Then there is a shiver in the world, and they're gone.
