Ramon is in the bar and is not in a good mood at all. No particular reason, he just gets like that sometimes. Company could either make it worse, or better, depending on who you are and what you have to say. Either way, he'd like to talk to someone because being pissed off on your own is never as much fun.

'...why not?'

Does. Not. Compute.

...although in Elle's case, it kind of does. Who would want to get that close to someone who'd kill you just to hear the noise you'd make while doing it?

"I'm not 'good with people.'"

She even uses air quotes. But after a moment, she adds, "And I have work."

Ramon frowns. And scratches his cheek and frowns some more.

'I'm not good with people,' he points out, eventually.

'Not by their definition, anyway. And I have work. Everyone has work. It doesn't mean you can't get laid at the same time.'

He looks around the bar, then back at her.

'Especially here. There's always someone here who'll take anything.'

"You asked if I had a boyfriend."

What he's talking about doesn't seem to have anything to do with that.

'I figured for you it'd be the same thing.'

He doesn't know why. She doesn't seem the casual sex type.

She's not, for now.

It doesn't mean she comprehends the whole 'monogamy' thing.

"Why?"

'You in the habit of picking up random guys for the night?'

"... no."

It sounds like she's guessing that this is the right answer.

Ramon looks at her and internally sighs. She never seems to get it.

'Is there anything about you that's remotely normal?'

"I thought you liked that."

That chill in her voice has returned just slightly.

'Are you concerned about what I like?'

If so, that'd be a surprise.

'And I never said I didn't.'

"Then you don't need to ask that.

It's not really sidestepping his question; it's just the only response she feels the need to give.

Ramon feels that response isn't adequate, mainly because she didn't answer his question and also because he didn't really understand what she said.

'I just did.'

Finally, Elle rolls her eyes.

"No."

"And I don't care if you like me."

Since that was apparently even a question.

'I'm shocked to hear it,' he says, drily.

She reminds him very much of himself, only he's pretty sure he's more functional.

'Then I'm sure you wont care if I call it a night and leave you to your own devices.'

"I'll figure something out," she answers.

It won't take too long.

'I can tell.'

He gets up and leaves without adding anything else. He's pretty sure that's another thing she wont mind.
