-There is, rather suddenly, a speedster in the bar. And for a second, he considers going right out, but time will have stopped on the other side of his door and maybe a few minutes to regroup and figure out what the hell just happened isn't such a bad idea.

And thus, a speedster in one of the booths, absently tapping his fingers against the table. Catch him while you can, folks.

Confusion. "You don't know?"

"I wasn't really paying attention."

...It's mostly true!

"Okay."

Jenny can buy that, even if it does get a slight scowl. Paying attention is important. But, she won't scold him for now.

"So, what've you been up to?"

"Warrior games," she answers, excitement clear in her face. "They're brilliant, Bart! Hand to hand combat and all sorts of weapons I haven't seen before. Love them. Almost as good as running."

"Huh."

Srry still distracted. :/

"Huh?"

Does he not understand the brilliance? Or how much she wants him to join in?

"...Sorry," he says.

"That's great."

He forces a grin. :D?

Unlike Bart, Jenny's paying attention. And that grin isn't a genuine Bart grin. She shakes her head.

"What's going on?"

"...Um."

"Nothing."

:D?

Another head shake. "I don't think so, Bart."

"...Probably nothing."

A flash of fear appears in her eyes. Jenny doesn't like this, she doesn't like that he's suddenly not talking to her again. They had gotten good at it, hadn't they?

"Bart?"

"Yeah?"

"What's going on?"

"I'm not sure."

Sharply, "Bart."

Augh.

"I don't, okay? I don't know."

"Thought you could talk to me," she retorted, crossing her arms over her chest. "You had gotten good at talking to me."

"Something happened."

Like the dissappearence of that good mood she had.

"Otherwise you wouldn't be acting like this."

HE HAS NOTHING TO SAY TO THAT.

"Well?"

"...I don't know, okay? It doesn't make sense and it might not mean anything and it might, but I don't know what and if it's bad I don't want to drag you into it, and I can't anyway even if I did want to."

HOW'S THAT FOR TALKING?

"But you're supposed to," she answers indignantly. "That's what this is about, isn't it? That's what the books say. That I'm supposed to help you as your girlfriend."
