Alanna has been in and out of the bar more than usual the last few days, armed with books and better warding spells from her communications with Numair. The latest spell has her better pleased than its predecessors, and she's not scowling quite as much this time when she returns from checking on the crime scene. She looks around and takes a seat at Bar, who promptly offers up a steaming cup of coffee and several notes.
She finishes off the coffee as she reads, apparently unconcerned by its temperature. Immediately she asks for pen and paper in order to write the following quick replies:
Dr. Cullen:
Thank you for your offer. Your services would be greatly appreciated, as we need a doctor to examine the remains. Currently the body (what's left of it) and crime scene are protected by a number of spells, but I can lower them for you to have a look. I'm easy to spot -- short, violet eyes, red hair. I'll keep watch for you, but in the meantime, feel free to approach anyone with a security badge about this matter.
Regards,
Sir Alanna
Tom,
Thank you. Would you be able to check the area for signs of magic? I have my own tests for such things, but the Goddess only knows if I'd be able to detect all magic from all worlds. I would appreciate it more than I can say. We should meet, so I can lower the spells currently protecting the scene from outside influence, and so you can speak freely about the possible suspect.
Is Ingress away, I hope?
Sincerely,
Alanna
Mr. Smith,
Thank you for your note and offer of assistance. I -- and any member of security -- would be interested to speak with you about your 'unique gift' and any ideas you might have on how to proceed. This is obviously a case we would like to solve sooner rather than later. Security members have security badges displayed, and Bar would probably be willing to help identify us.
Regards,
Sir Alanna
That done, Alanna settles back with a second cup of coffee and a lot to think about. Most of it concerns West, but she's also starting to wonder where Raph and Abigail are; they were due at Pirate's Swoop well before now. Curious.
[OOC:I have to run several errands, but I wanted to go ahead and get this up. I'll be back in 2-3 hours at the most. Feel free to tag, and I will reply ASAP. :) Back!]

"Milady, wished to ask what 'appened outside an when?"

"Alanna," she corrects, not unkindly. "Or Lioness. Please."
no subject
"Um aye, I'm Will Scarlett an just tryin' to figure out what 'appened. Usually practice me archery an with blade so was curious 'bout who was killed."
no subject
Her lips curve in a half smile that promptly disappears as she considers his question.
"West Rosen," she answers at last, watching for his reaction.

"I'm glad you're here, Alanna, both literally and figuratively. I wasn't sure whether you were in Milliways or not at the moment."
no subject
"Hullo, Tom. I am present and accounted for, though I believe it has been many years since we last spoke." For her, anyway. "It's good to see you."
If only the circumstances were different.

This seems to please her a great deal, and there's no mistaking the pride in her eyes; pride in both the triplets and herself, for managing to get them to their current age without making a complete mess of parenting.
"Yes. I was quite relieved to get your note. Did you receive mine?"

"S'up," says Harth, slouching by on his (appreantly) bored way.
no subject
Harth-who-is-a-suspect-Harth.
Surprised she may be, but Alanna is quick to react. A strong, determined arm shoots out and wraps around his shoulders.
"Goddess bless. Look who it is. Hullo, Harth."
no subject
Whatever. He shrugs and grins.
"Can I help you, officer?"
no subject
"I need to talk to you," she says, jerking her head at one of the stools.
In other words: have a seat, Harth.
"How have you been?"
It's relevant.

Jack's lounging in the seat of a booth not far away, back braced against the wall and a bottle of rum near at hand. Black eyes are bright, even gleaming with wicked mischief.
"You look busy. Care for a distraction?"
no subject
Grinning, Alanna uses the bar to push off and spins her stool toward his voice, jumping clear before it circles back around. She takes a moment to study his expression, then wanders over and rests both palms on his table.
Leaning down: "What sort of distraction?"
no subject
He shifts in turn, leaning toward her. The thin coil of rope fastened at his belt -- a new look for Jack Sparrow -- makes a hissing noise against the wood of the booth as he does.
"Did you have anything in mind, luv?"
no subject
A new look, indeed.
"I might." Beat. "How about a drink?"
Her eyes flick to the rum.

"Excuse me, miss. Do you have a moment?"
no subject
"Of course. In fact I have several. Would you care to join me?"
She waves a hand at her nearly empty coffee cup.

Sallie finds herself a barstool.
"I know that there's a separate Lost and Found here outside of the Security Office, but due to the nature o' the thing, I thought I'd report it too.
"Have you found a knife? Silver, serrated edge, black handle?"
no subject
As her badly composed letters go, this one is particularly pitiful. Alanna balls up the piece of paper and starts to toss it toward the trash, but Sallie's question brings her up short.
"About this long?" she asks, holding her hands the proper distance apart.

He stopped by the bar, and received Alanna's note. He then caught the badge from the woman sitting a few seats away. He then nodded a greeting to her.
"Hello, I'm John Smith."
no subject
She grins.
"I'm Alanna. I take it you got my note?"
His is still sitting on the bar in front of her.
no subject
He then held up his hand, "I'd shake hands, but it works through physical contact. My visions. That's the gift I was talking about."
no subject
Alanna sits up a bit straighter, eyes wide with interest. She's had some of her own over the years, but they generally aren't brought on by contact.
"I see. What sort of visions?"
