Cubefall, day 2

There is a dragon outside!

It's a small dragon, which is to say, it's about the height of a tall human... at the shoulder. It is just flying in from the mountains, gliding (mostly) majestically over the trees.

Come admire his reptilian grace! Ask for a ride, if you're not too heavy!

Or bring him some food. That would be very welcome, too.

Oh, but what do not!Sprite Dragons eat?

Coreen, pushing her sunglasses up and both hands on her belly, walks slowly to watch. She's hoping that she doesn't look like a meal.

"Hello there." There's a small wave and a bright smile.

"Hi!" The dragon makes a low pass over her; its voice is that of an adolescent boy, and cheerful.

Coreen ducks out of reflex. "How are you today, Dragon?" There is a wide smile on her face when she decides that he probably won't eat her.

She watches the dragon fly; he's still getting used to himself, is what Coreen decides.

"I'm Coreen."

"I'm Enzo!" he calls, circling. "Is that your normal form, or... oh," he catches sight of her stomach, "I guess it is."

"Yep, I can't play this year...maybe I will next time." She slowly turns a circle watching, but decides against turning any more in case of getting dizzy. It wouldn't do for her to pass out.

"It's nice to meet you, Enzo."

"You, too!"

He'll take mercy on her. He swoops extra-low nearby, just starts to pull up from the dive, and stops. He hangs in the air for a moment, then lands with a huge thump.

Coreen chuckles, and walks over to him. "I would like to fly sometime. Maybe next year." She sounds only slightly jealous; but cabin fever has been nagging at her.

Annabelle is trying to get the hang of her new zappy powers at the moment.

There is a flash of light and a *crack* of thunder as a small tree explodes in a hail of splinters. This would be a lot more impressive if Annabelle hadn't been aiming for the large rock about 3 feet to the left. The miss has Annabelle scowling and swearing fit to, metaphorically at least, strip paint.

Whoa, special effects! Enzo homes in on the light show.

"Annabelle?" he calls.

"Hello Enzo!" Annabelle calls back. "Have you figured out landing yet?"

"Sort of!"

He goes into a dive, pulls up at the last moment, hangs motionless for a second, and then drop with a thump.

"It's not super-smooth, but it works."

"Not bad," Annabelle says with a grin. "I'm still trying to get a handle on my own abilities," she adds ruefully.

"You went with the Nova?"

Arnold doesn't have food, but he does have a soccer ball, which he kicking around for, well, kicks.

He hasn't noticed the dragon yet...but he will soon, perhaps!

What if it circles overhead and roars?

Arnold jumps and stares at the circling dragon in surprise.

The circling dragon laughs.

Hmmmm. A laughing dragon? Sounds like one he can take his chances with.

"It's not nice to surprise people like that," Arnold calls up good-naturedly.

"Sorry, dude, I couldn't resist!"

The voice, at least, has not changed.

And in the skies along with the young dragon, there's a red-and-silver sort-of-cat-shaped robot ship.

Over the comm link, there's a "Hello there! Haven't seen you before!" to be heard.

"Rad?" Enzo hollers back. "Is that you? You're a giant flying robo-cat!"

Before Rad can speak up, there's a second voice Enzo might not be as familiar with: "No. He's inside my head, piloting me. I'm Lionizer."

"Ohhhh! Neat! Nice to meet you! Is that for Cubefall or are you always like that?" He never did get the specifics.

"Cubefall. Normally I'm a lot smaller than this." Pause. "I'd make a cumbersome weapon if I were this large."

"But you do make for an excellent vehicle, buddy."

"Yeah, okay. I think he would've said. I've never seen a cat-ship before."

Insect ships, on the other hand...
