She pauses.

"He's not. Lexaeus does not either." Xaldin says instantly.

"Is there no way to restore them?"

"We're working on it. Everyone so far has found them in different ways, Xigbar and myself being the exception. We got ours together." his gloved hand brushes his chest lightly as he says it. "Axel's was through the work of many things, including his friends. Demyx's was through Kingdom Hearts. Xigbar and I were granted our hearts through the grace of a woman named Rachel. Zexion was given his by a being called Nyarlathotep."

"How does it generally happen? If that's a valid question."

"Differently for each of us." Xaldin says with a grimace and a shrug "If we had a general we could fix the Lessers and be done with the whole thing."

"Right."

Athena sighs in discontent.

"Good things never come easy, as they say."

Following that, she offers him her right hand.

"Athena."

"Very true." He takes her hand and shakes it. His gloves are softer than leather but cooler than skin. "Xaldin."

"It's nice to meet you."

"The same."

"How long've you been around here? If you don't mind my asking."

"A little over a year - off and on. Most of the last six months were spent seeking worlds."

"Have you succeeded?"

"Six hundred pages of reports. We're still combing through them."

"So you're looking for somewhere to transfer to permanently -- any defining features of what you're looking for?"

"No prior tenants." he says simply "Capable of supporting life with some help. Not too small."
