Since leaving Milliways the first time Diana has been traveling steadily east.
By plane. Then by train.
It has been a very interesting experience, and in certain cases very -- enlightening.
And yet she is still not at all disappointed to open the door to a local cafe and find Milliways waiting on the other side.
The chairs here, for example, are much more comfortable. And the fireplace contains fish.
It's a different sort of interesting, and one that is arguably more familiar than not. Such is the life of an Amazon and member of the Justice League.
Even one currently wearing slacks and a solid-colored blouse rather than her more iconic uniform.

"And those I have met from my own world do not appear much concerned with it, either. I could almost wish my own mind would leave me at peace with it."
Almost.
But given how loudly Diana's heart protests what she sees happening every moment in that window --
Her mind is almost definitely out of luck.

"I do know one thing," Ben says his voice low and full of honesty, "at the first sign of trouble, I'm right there. Anythin' bad happens or if that bit of 'The End" comes here, I'll fight it with everythin' I got."

There's relief in those words, because so many people she has met are -- enirely unfazed by the possibility of annihilation.
It's troubling.
And Ben gives every appearance of knowing what he's doing. There is comfort in that, as well.
And possibly, one day, friendship. Time will tell.

Diana does not quite laugh, just looks a little rueful.
"I've heard tell of these gods, a few of them seem to be from my own pantheon -- the Greek, if that helps. It's strange, because at home they have withdrawn from the world entirely. I wouldn't have expected -- "
She cuts herself off, smiling faintly.
"But people do say time moves differently here. Perhaps it's that, as well. Have you met any gods as yet, Ben?"

"Hercules also comes here an' he's from my world," Ben then looks around to see if Herc is present before continuing in a low voice, "I don't like ta say bad things about folks but if ya met my Herc, be warned he can be a bit forward wit' the ladies. Don't get me wrong, he's a stand up guy and is great ta have at'cher back."

Diana looks -- less than impressed, but not really disgusted, either.
"That meeting might be interesting, indeed. My own world has a Hercules -- but our interactions have always been somewhat complex. He knew my mother, you see."
