It's been a long two weeks for Nathaniel.
And for Asher.
The door opens and the wereleopard follows the vampire into the bar. There's only a moment of mild shock visible on Nathaniel's face (Asher's is as unreadable as ever) at the change in scenery, and then he slides his hand into Asher's.
Nathaniel leads Asher over to a booth, sliding in beside Asher, keeping close contact. Since the forming of the pentumvirate, Nathaniel has been spending as much time as humanly possible with Asher. He's sure the vampire will soon find him an annoyance, but so far, Asher has seemed equally as needy for his presence.
"You can choose supper tonight," Nathaniel says softly, smiling up at Asher. "I chose last night."

"Something simple, I think," he murmurs. Something he can feed to Nathaniel, too. It's silly, but he needs that connection, needs to be part of it tonight. He attracts the attention of a passing waitrat, keeping an arm around Nathaniel. He orders a selection of Turkish mezze, heavy on the meat options, things that won't matter if they grow cold.

"You almost never want simple," he teases.

"I thought vampires didn't change, hence why you wear those terrible, dated clothes," he says.
no subject
"You don't like my clothes?"
no subject
Nathaniel grins at Asher.
"The period of clothes you wear has so many inconvenient layers to burrow through."

"Slowly stripping a lover of their clothing, taking your time, removing item after item, caressing every inch of skin you bare to your gaze, your touch...it can be..." his voice is a low purr and promise all in one, "intoxicating."

"But I have the impatience of youth," he whispers, his voice a little uneven.

"And are you the perfect teacher for just such an endeavor?"

The laugh comes easier than it used to, and it satisfies Nathaniel in a way he hasn't felt before. Then the food arrives and his stomach actually growls.
"That... smells divine," he says, picking up his customary glass of milk for a sip before he dives into the food.

"Allow me," he murmurs, picking up a piece of pitta bread, carefully scooping some paprika-tinged hummus onto it, lifting it to Nathaniel's lips.

"You're going to feed me?" he asks.
It makes Nathaniel's chest ache, the idea of being fed by his lover. Such a normal, boyfriend-type thing for Asher to do, and it makes Nathaniel smile brightly.

He even nips playfully at Asher's fingers from time to time.

"No one's ever fed me before," he purrs. "Not like this."

"I think I like it."

Nathaniel takes Asher's hand in his and kisses the palm.
"You make me happy," he murmurs against Asher's skin, wanting his vampire to know that.
no subject
"And you me," he whispers.
no subject
Asher's happy.
That's all that matters to him in this moment.
"I love you."

"I'd like you to read Le Petit Prince," he murmurs.

"In French, even if I can't understand most of it."
no subject
"Very well. Though I am not sure why you wish me to read it in French, when you will not be able to understand..."

Nathaniel smiles faintly.
"It's the way you read it, the tone of your voice, that I want to hear."
no subject
"Say the word, cher, and we can go upstairs."

Nathaniel pulls back, smiling.
"I like that we're the only two here right now from our time, and I want to enjoy that for as long as we can."
no subject
"We should make the most of it," he agrees. "Shall we?" He slowly pulls away from Nathaniel, waiting for his lover to slide out of the booth.
