Teja and Urquhart are playing chess again, slowly and grimly, but with much less tension than the last time.

Urquhart's nose is still somewhat swollen and discoloured.

Teja would not pass judgement on that; he is far too dignified to smirk at the man's suffering.

Instead, he takes a knight with his bishop, calmly.

Asher was minding his own business, walking past the bar when a napkin folded up into an origami crane fluttered past his face. Catching it relexively, he unfolded it, read the note upon it, and looked at the bar.

"If I must..." He sighed, knowing it was futile to try and outstare Bar. He rolled his eyes, shed his coat and stepped behind the bar, scrawling specials on the board and rolling up his sleeves.

[OOM: The reason Nathaniel and Asher need a bath in the first place... warning for adult content.]

“If I say I can’t walk to the bath by myself, will you actually believe me?” Nathaniel asks with a grin.

“Not at all,” Asher wraps his arms around Nathaniel’s waist, dragging him towards the edge of the bed. “But just think of the delicious hot water that waits if you walk through that door,” he points out.

Nathaniel moans softly. The idea of a shower does sound amazing. “All right.” He rises from the bed and pulls Asher toward the bathroom door. “It has to be very hot water, though.”

“It will be.” Asher grins, sliding his arms around Nathaniel, pulling him close and kissing him deeply. He backs them slowly towards the door, fumbling for the handle, reluctant to tear his lips away from Nathaniel’s. He nudges Nathaniel’s hip with his, walking them through the door. It’s only when he feels rough wood under his feet rather than cold tile that he opens his eyes, breaks the kiss.

“Ah,” he murmurs, looking around at a rather crowded bar, wondering just how they’re going to get out of this one. The way he and Nathaniel are hugging ensures that nothing too incriminating is showing...but they're rather trapped, now.

Asher has been in the Bar or it's surrounding grounds since returning from St Louis. ~~Even if his mun has been utterly faily about posting him in.~~

He's feeling a little more sociable than he has been, so tonight he's sitting by the fire, drinking a rather incongrous humourous mug of blood (courtesy of Bar), and people-watching.

One content, totally botherable vampire, up for grabs.

[OOM: Nathaniel reminds Asher that the vampire's all he really needs. Warning for smut.]

It's been a long two weeks for Nathaniel.

And for Asher.

The door opens and the wereleopard follows the vampire into the bar. There's only a moment of mild shock visible on Nathaniel's face (Asher's is as unreadable as ever) at the change in scenery, and then he slides his hand into Asher's.

Nathaniel leads Asher over to a booth, sliding in beside Asher, keeping close contact. Since the forming of the pentumvirate, Nathaniel has been spending as much time as humanly possible with Asher. He's sure the vampire will soon find him an annoyance, but so far, Asher has seemed equally as needy for his presence.

"You can choose supper tonight," Nathaniel says softly, smiling up at Asher. "I chose last night."

[OOM: Incubus Dreams Plot:
Nathaniel and Asher have a talk about Asher's relationship with Anita and Jean-Claude, as well as Nathaniel's with Damian. A few days later, Anita meets with Jean-Claude and Asher where they discuss Anita's hesitancy about a ménage à trois.

Saturday, October 26th - Richard, Anita, Micah, Jason, and Donovan spend an evening in front of the television discussing politics. Anita and Micah arrive home and continue discussing the Supreme Court case, but are interrupted when a werewolf needs to be picked up from a bar. Micah heads out, and Damian comes home from work, at which time everything goes to hell between Anita, Damian, and Nathaniel.

Sunday, October 27th - Anita wakes up and realizes it's daylight, and Damian is in the middle of the kitchen with the sunlight shining in. Things go from bad to much worse. Later on in the day, Richard and Micah have a little chat in Anita's kitchen. That night, Jean-Claude and Damian discuss the pentumvirate while Nathaniel rushes to Asher and they both cling to one another. Once individual conversations have completed, the pentumvirate plus Asher meets to discuss the situation, though the consensus winds up being to wait it all out.

Monday, October 28th - While at work, Anita gets a call from Donovan about a missing swanmane. Anita hangs up with him and immediately calls Ronnie about looking for the girl. Later that evening, Anita picks Nathaniel up and drives him to work at Guilty Pleasures. While there, one of the vampires goes batshit and challenges Jean-Claude, who demands Anita be his human servant for once and do as she's told. Afterward, Anita head to her raising, which goes about as smashingly as expected, and when she returns to the Circus, she runs into Damian and they have a small chat.

Tuesday, October 29th - Anita wakes up in the late afternoon, and she and Nathaniel take over Jason's bed. Afterward, a half-shifted and distraught Nathaniel seeks out Asher. That evening, Anita and Ronnie go looking for the swanmane. Richard rushes to Anita's side at the Circus, and they are joined by Jean-Claude.

Wednesday, October 30th - Micah wakes Anita with the news that one of their female leopards is now missing. Anita hangs up and calls Zerbrowski to see who else might have gone missing lately. As she's getting ready to head out, Asher and Nathaniel show up for a brief talk about what had happened the previous day. While she's out, Zerbrowski gives her a call, and as she's talking to Ronnie, Anita manages to get kidnapped. Ronnie calls Richard, who then calls Jean-Claude, and the pentumvirate meets to see if they can find their missing Animator.

Thursday, October 31st - Anita wakes up in a cell and tries to escape... and fails. Instead, she must wait for the cavalry to arrive and kick ass.

Warning: All links in red lead to threads with adult content/sex. The dates are off from 2009 because this all takes place in 1996, the time of the books. For those of you who have read Incubus Dreams, this plot is completely different from the book itself because... well... the book sucked and none of us liked it. :)

It's well after dusk when the vampire and wereleopard make their way downstairs. Nathaniel stops at the bar for a Gatorade, laughing softly at something Asher whispers to him. They linger there long enough for Nathaniel to drink the sports drink, and then they head for the door.

Life in St. Louis can't be put off forever, no matter how much the two of them are enjoying their time in Milliways. Nathaniel leads Asher out and into Asher's room at the Circus, the vampire's laugh cut off by the shutting of the door behind them.

[OOM: Listen as the wind blows from across the great divide;

Asher was relieved that Nathaniel was spending the night with Anita and Micah; it meant there was no one to witness his tears when he awoke, his sorrow strangely cleansing, leaving him feeling reborn, if a little fragile.

He dressed soberly, black from head to toe as he brushed his hair carefully, letting it fall over his face. Today was not a day for peacocking, not a day to stand out. Making his way downstairs, Asher found himself a shadowed corner, staring out of the observation window, lost deep in thought.

Much to Asher's surprise, when he steps into the Bar after sunset on Saturday night, his outfit changes from a simple (as simple as Asher gets...) shirt and smart pants, into this.

He stares at the sword in his hand, then down at his appearance. It's a good thing vampires don't feel the cold, and it's no worse than some of the outfits Belle has forced him into.

Still, it's...disconcerting.

When Nathaniel comes downstairs Halloween night, he's shocked.

Shocked.

He stands on the landing, looking down at himself. He is, by no means, amused.

Well, maybe a little amused.

"Cute," he sighs, heading over to Bar. Walking in heels and fishnet stalkings is a piece of cake for this man, and he hops up onto a barstool. "French maid. Ha ha. I'm sure Asher will love it."

Nathaniel orders himself supper, pleased as punch to sit there and eat, or talk, should anyone poke the leopard.

Nathaniel has claimed a comfortable chair near the fire. He's casually dressed in pajama pants and slippers, his wet hair braided. A cup of hot chocolate is in his hands, his knees drawn up to his chest as he sips the liquid. Nightmares were one thing. Nathaniel's had nightmares most of his life.

That?

That hadn't been a nightmare.

He sighs into his mug, closing his eyes briefly, and tries not to think too much about it.

Problem is, the more he tries not to think about the nightmare-that-wasn't-a-nightmare, the more it lingers in his thoughts.

[OOM: Anita calls Asher to Guilty Pleasures and a much needed conversation occurs, that eventually includes Nathaniel. Joint custody of the wereleopard is decided.]

[OOM: Millitimed to Tuesday, September 15th: Asher coaxes Nathaniel out of bed for food and a bath while officially accepting the wereleopard as his pomme de sang.

A few days later, Liz comes by with more food to cheer the kitten up and they talk a little about their childhoods.]

[OOM: In St. Louis, Damian has a word with Asher while delivering some pard-scented sheets and pillows to the Circus for Nathaniel.]

[OOM: Nothing positive ever lasts long for the Anita Blake crew. At the behest of Jean-Claude, Anita goes to see Asher, at which point, Asher decides honesty is the best policy and tells Anita about his relationship with Nathaniel. After that revelation, Anita confronts Richard and Jean-Claude about their part in the hiding of that relationship, and other truths are brought to light. Not finding the support she wants within the triumvirate, Anita goes to Micah, but is quickly told her demands are unreasonable and that Micah will not allow her to rip the pard apart.

While Micah talks with Asher and Nathaniel about the state of things, Damian finds Anita in the room the vampires use where there is a small battle of wills that Damian actually wins.

All posts were written in Google Docs with various muns for quickness and ease of reading. :D No warnings except for language and Anita's usual narrow-minded idiocy.]

The door opens, revealing a redheaded leopard and a golden-haired vampire.

Both are dressed quite nicely, and Nathaniel is shaking his head.

"Asher, how many times are you going to make me eat in one night? If I gain weight, I swear, I'll make you regret it somehow," Nathaniel is telling Asher as they step into Milliways instead of the hall of the Circus outside Asher's room.

Nathaniel looks around and sighs.

"It might not be the fancy place you intended, but I'm sure they have all the food you could possibly want to stuff me with," the leopard sighs.

[OOC: Two pups, two muns, but Asher-mun shall disappear at 6pm EST, so things shall go into slowtime then!]

[OOM - Cerulean Sins Plot:
Anita goes on a zombie raising, but the raising is crashed by Asher as he informs her that Musette has arrived early. She returns to the Circus where Jean-Claude, Asher, Damian, and she greet Musette, which ends badly for poor Asher. After the disasterous confrontation with Musette, Jean-Claude and Anita talk and decide to bring Asher to their bed. This, however, ends a little unpleasantly for Anita, and Jason comes to her rescue.

After a few hours of sleep in Jason's bed, Anita is called to two murder scenes, and she's forced to bring Jason along so she doesn't pass out at the wheel. She passes out at the crime scene instead. After passing out, Anita wakes up in a bathtub with Micah, and they discover just what's been draining Anita all day.

On the way to the Circus, Anita is psychically attacked by Belle Morte, and Richard aids Anita in fighting her back, though he wakes the ardeur in the process. Anita rushes to Jean-Claude in order to sate the ardeur, and she winds up having a hurtful arugment with both Jean-Claude and Asher. Anita confronts the men who had been following her and deals with the Feds over who the stalkers are. Then, she receives a call from Jean-Claude informing her that Dolph has picked Jason up for questioning, and she sets off to retrieve him.

Returning from the police station, Anita, Jean-Claude, and Asher talk, and Asher is offered an apology. Everyone converges for the banquet that night with Musette and her people, and it goes about as well as one can expect.

That night, Asher returns to his room to find an irate Nathaniel, and the second mark is give by the vampire to the wereleopard.

The following day, Jean-Claude and Asher talk about Nathaniel, about betrayal, and about love.

Finally, Anita goes to locate the serial killer, having to ask Richard for the use of some of their wolves.

A few days later, Anita, Richard, and Jean-Claude wrap up the plot with a meeting at the Lunatic Café to discuss Richard's behavior at the banquet and the future.

[OOM: Millitimed to last Wednesday, Nathaniel confronts Asher about what he did to his past self that came into the bar, and that leads down a path of Asher digging himself deeper into his own grave with Nathaniel.

In the bar there is a table strategically set close enough to the fireplace that the two occupants are cast into a warm light without risking spontaneous combustion. When you're a vampire, you use what assets your immortality gives while hiding pesky side effects with excellent lighting. And these two vampires are old enough to have figured out how best to display themselves. Thanks to the fountainhead of their vampiric line and lucky genetics, they both are quite handsome, one with golden hair and eyes a piercing robin's-egg blue, and the other with striking green eyes and crimson hair.

On the table with these two ~~omg! gorgeous~~ vampires is a clipboard and a sign, which might be a little familiar, since Damian has flashed it around before:

With Jean-Claude now in the bar, they have an even greater need for donors, and that means Damian and Asher have put on their most casual garb and amicable expressions to solicit what mortal women of their world literally beg for in certain circles.
