Moist only blinks a couple times at the whole 'walking assortment of gadgets' thing. There are people in similar states in LA.

"Yup. What's the point of hot chocolate if there's not whipped cream." Clearly, here is a man who likes his food.

"Well, it's not bad either way." The narration more wonders what the point is without marshmallows, but that's her.
After the whipped cream is applied, Moist hands the mug over. "There you go."

"You the regular lunchtime bartender?" Well, it was lunchtime for once when Cy got here.

"Nah, I just get drafted every now and then. I don't know if there is a regular lunchtime bartender."

Of course, Moist is still more comfortable thinking of Bar as a mad science project, so...

"Far as anyone can tell, I think so, yeah."
Moist isn't entirely sure what to make of Bar, but he's willing to roll with it. You have to roll with a lot of things when you're a professional henchman.

Not literally, anymore, or he might balk at returning the handshake. (Not to mention bartending by himself.)

"That's your name, right. Because if it's not, that is way more than I wanna know." Nothing against that, of course. He just would prefer not to be told such things.

"Is it alcoholic or non-alcoholic cider?" Carlotta asks, sitting at the bar.

"I've got both kinds back here, so... both, I guess."
But people are generally going to order one at a time, and she looks a little young for the hard cider. (This wouldn't necessarily stop Moist if this were the Union's bar - Bait was drinking people under the table when she still went by Jailbait, after all - but Milliways is a different story.)

"A non-alcoholic cider then please." Carlotta says, wanting the familiarity of the taste but not to actually get drunk.

He doesn't bother closing the catalog while he's at it; he's been trying to mark potential presents for Doc, and that'll get harder if he loses his place.

"Thank you." Small smile. "I used to be allowed to sip the alcoholic cider, when I was younger, but it wouldn't really be appropriate for me to have a whole one."

Moist hands over the mug of cider. "Seriously? Where're you from?"
The 'when' is a little implied.

"1945, I was brought up in a British Circus." Carlotta says. "It really was just a sip on cold nights. Thank you." she sips the cider.

She assumes he thinks that's something terrible, by his surprise.

"A circus? Cool. It's always interesting hearing how people approach drinking-age stuff."
And how they get around it, sometimes.

"You think I was immoral?" Carlotta asks, trying to work out which way he goes on the issue.

"I'm Carlotta by the way, it's nice to meet you."

"What you do is your own business. I'm not one to comment on morality." Unless it's Captain Hammer being an ass, but that's Captain Hammer.
"I'm Moist. Nice to meet you too."

"Do you bartend here often?" Carlotta asks, sipping her cider.

"I've been drafted for it a few times."
And it's pretty fun, so he doesn't mind being drafted.
