Teja is in the forge, working furiously.

The midwinter holidays are not far off; also, it has been his while since he's seen Charlie, and that brings up feelings in the Goth that are best dealt with by intense sparring, or vigorous hammering.

The cats, not minding the noise, lounge by the fire.

Despite the cold outside, the door is open, and all comers, be they friend or stranger, customer or merely curious, are welcome.-

"And what does that mean?" Teja asks.

[fiery_ring]

"I need a miracle."

[ostro_goth]

"What shall happen if you do not get it?" Teja asks.

[fiery_ring]

"I won't get to see you dress as a lady."

[ostro_goth]

"But you will not suffer any unusually ill effect in your school?" Teja asks.

[fiery_ring]

"I don't think so." Carlotta says, wrinkling her nose slightly. "We're not at maid costume stage yet."

[ostro_goth]

"Good," Teja says, amused.

[fiery_ring]

"Anyway, we'll see." Carlotta says.

[ostro_goth]

"So we shall," Teja agrees.-

[fiery_ring]

"Enough about me, how are you?" Carlotta asks. "You were hitting that metal very vigorously when I arrived."

[ostro_goth]

"It needs to be hit that way," Teja says, "for the layers to bond well."

[fiery_ring]

"And you're not suffering inner turmoil?"

[ostro_goth]

"No inner turmoil," Teja says. "Some longing, maybe."

[fiery_ring]

"For Mr Monroe?"

[ostro_goth]

And Adalgoth, more strongly again, after the vision on the Day of the Dead. But that is not a thing to upset Carlotta with.-

"Yes," Teja says, with a quiet sigh.

[fiery_ring]

Carlotta gives him a gentle hug.

"I'm sure he'll turn up."

[ostro_goth]

"Eventually, he will," Teja says, sighing.

[fiery_ring]

"He was here when you had flu, that can't have been long ago."

[ostro_goth]

"No, it was not," Teja says. "I still miss him. Love will do that to one that loves."

[fiery_ring]

"Yes." Carlotta says. "I sometimes wish I could take Will to school with me."

[ostro_goth]

"So you are now truly in love, and have spoken of it clearly?" Teja says.

[fiery_ring]

"Well I don't think we're old enough to call it true love." Carlotta says. "But I think about him a lot and I miss him when I'm not with him. I don't really know how to tell if I'm in love."

[ostro_goth]

"You are," Teja says.

[fiery_ring]

"Really? How do you know?"

[ostro_goth]

"From that which you just told me," Teja says.
