Happy Hour!
There are many things Ned has yet to check off his proverbial Things To Do Before I Die list, and bartending at any sort of bar is one of them.
(But why not add a couple of extra points for uniqueness? Throw in a bar at the end of the universe, too.)
The Happy Hour specials are written in very precise, neat handwriting and reflect his day-job. It's hard to stray too far away from pie-making, it seems.
Tonight's Specials
Apple Pie in a Glass
American Pie
Mud Pie
He quickly gives the bartop a wipe-down, then turns to the bar space at large.
"Okay. What'll it be?"
[ooc: And the brains have officially decided they've had enough. Slowtimes for all, please! And thanks for tagging!]

There is some major frowning going on here.

Cursed? Maybe.
But it's given him a couple of things he knows he could never live without. (Namely Chuck and Digby.)
"Like I said, I have no idea how I got this ability," he explains.
It's actually a bit frustrating sometimes.

She wants to hug him but that will make him uncomfortable.

He would appreciate it, though! Really!
It's just - touching is still difficult, even if he's made a whole lot of progress, considering.
He shakes his head, offering her a reassuring smile.
"It's all right," he says kindly. "It just makes me a little ... twitchy sometimes. I can't say for sure who is dead or alive here. The dead look just as lively as the living."

Okay, that already wins points in Ned's book. And he's pretty sure Chuck would love that too. And now that he thinks of it ...
"- Demeter."
He's pretty sure he knows that name from somewhere. Possibly from his very brief interest in Greek mythology.
But as he's thinking, he remembers not to forget his manners. "Oh. I'm Ned," he adds hastily.

She sips her drink and grins at him.

Ned turns a brilliant shade of red at that sort of very random remark.
"I've got a girlfriend," he manages to utter. Does that sortakinda answer her question?

"Actually, it's my first time bartending."
So it's nice to know he hasn't messed up yet!
"I found a few recipes from this book in the back."

And most of them, he likes! Which is always a plus.

"Wonderful is right."
It does fill him with wonder most of the time. And the occasional blessings it gives him (such as Cubefall, for example) is never anything to complain about either.
"So, you've bartended before?"

Hey, it's always good to pick up any tips from people who've done this before.
Better if they're goddesses. (Not that he's aware Demeter is a goddess just yet.)

"Well, thank you."
