Entrance Post
It'd been a week since the defeat of Darken Rahl. Richard got that the people wanted to celebrate as they'd been under his rule for as long as he'd been alive. But he didn't quite understand why he had to stop everything he was doing in order to celebrate for a week straight. There were still battalions of the Da'Haran army out there that were giving the people trouble and he felt he should be out there with the rest of the Resistance fighting them.
He scratched the back of his head as he entered the room tonight's fest was being held in and paused about three steps in, because this really didn't look like where he was supposed to be. Especially since Kahlan and Zed had already entered the room and a quick glance around this place told him that they weren't anywhere he could see. That and the room had really changed since he'd been in here this morning.
A glance behind him finds the door he'd just entered through gone. Which only adds to the confusion as he shifts to an empty table with a confused look. The Seeker of Truth is very much lost at the moment. Poor fellow.

"The beer just appeared out of no where..." This, clearly means his question wasn't answered. "You know the people with the big book of patrons?"
His head tilts slightly, taking in the rules. The frankness of Edie earns the smallest frown. And no, that cough isn't because that was...so blunt not even a sharpening stone would help it. "Thanks...I think." For the rules.
no subject
"Exactly the point," she responds. "You just ask for it. As to the big book, I haven't seen them around but, you can ask to see the Barmen and it should get you to who you need to see."
She watches him and chuckles. "You're welcome. It's so much more fun than: 'No outside business, No sex, and No violence' don't you think?"
no subject
He frowns slightly and looks at the bartop. "A room for the duration of my stay...?" It's almost not a question, but a room key for him does indeed appear for him. "I'll look into the Barmen." Later, though likely he'll get jumped long before he remembers to search for the Barmen and to see if anyone from his world is here.
He gives a faint smile, the corner of his mouth quirk. "You are very right. Even if I think half of saying it that way is to also get the person you are telling to blush."
no subject
She chuckles. "Hey, you can judge a lot about their tolerance for things by explaining things that way. What they can handle, what they're used to...you know."
no subject
"So it's research of a kind?" His tone is wry and a little amused.
no subject
"It's very good research. It lets me know if a person's worth bothering with. There's a few that aren't; I don't deal with them."
no subject
"Interesting way of knowing who you want to deal with."

"Sometimes it's hard not to take things too seriously, even themselves though." It's offered as merely a different way of looking at the picture. "But having a place to be able to 'kick back' seems like some place that we all need once in a while."
There's the faintest pause before he tilts his head at her, "How are you dangerous?" Because while she's lovely to look at she doesn't quite look dangerous. Then again neither do a lot of Confessors if you haven't seen them fight.
no subject
She's a very 'go with the flow' kind of person.
She laughs, "How am I dangerous? Huh, well, as this is completely neutral ground I'll tell you. I've robbed banks, I've stolen jewels, I've killed people with my bare hands and clothing. I can crush a man's skull between my thighs and not even pause. I'm deadly when I need to be."
She makes an amazing supervillain. Tony must be proud.

There's a raised brow at the 'crazy enough' comment, though he doesn't ask.
Richard's eyes widen just a touch at her list. It's quite the list, really. Especially for someone that looks like her. But then there is that saying never judge something by its appearance. All Richard ends up vocalizing is, "Wow..."
no subject
She probably wouldn't tell.
She recrosses her legs and takes another sip of her drink, grinning at him. "Don't worry, sweetie, it's neutral ground here, and I ain't got a bone to pick with you."
no subject
So it's probably good he's not asking.
Richard smiles slightly, not able to completely keep his eyes from following that movement. "Well I'll remember to never give you a reason to have a bone to pick with me." The phrase sounds just a hair weird because it's not a term from his world, but he likes it.
no subject
Because it's a valid question 'round these parts.
"That'll probably work out to your favor. Guns are a lot more deadly than a sword. Don't haveta get near you to shoot you."
And much more precise than arrows.
no subject
There's a look that asks if she has to ask that often. Because it's not something most people are asked all the time.
And now he's just frowning. "Guns?"
We has none of these things in the Midlands!
no subject
"This is a gun. It propels metal at high speeds in and through things. Does really nice work taking people down."
no subject
His eyes and brain focus mostly on the gun, traveling every speck of it. His hand even reaches out, almost touching it. He stops just short of actually putting fingers on it though.
"Closest thing we have to that in the Midlands are crossbows," he murmurs.
no subject
Dangerous. Ver, ver dangerous.
no subject
"I would owe you a great debt for that." Meaning it would totally be worth it. Even if the mun is making the abject decision that the gun will find it's way back in his room and not in the Midlands should he try to take it back. The technology would just totally fuck with the history and everything back home.
Richard likes dangerous when it's on his side.

She laughs slightly, patting his arm. "There's a few people here I'd like to request you don't shoot with it: me, my husband, and our friends. Anyone else is fair game."
She doesn't figure any of the above will give him too much trouble.
no subject
Richard smiles, "I don't just go about hurting people." His title would go to hell if he did, "I think I can keep from shooting these people." Not that he knows exactly who they are.
no subject
She's a generous supervillainess.
A generous supervillainess that has managed to lose track of time.
"I need to get going; my husband's waiting for me."
no subject
Can't keep the President of the United States of Skyline-verse waiting too long after all!
"It's been nice getting to know you." He says with a wave, "Take care." Her husband is definitely a lucky guy, though he's already got enough dominant women in his life.
no subject
She really can't. He gets crabby when he does. She stands, and smiles over to him.
"It's my pleasure, Richard. We'll see each other soon."
Oh, he's well aware how lucky he is. It may have something to do with the way she walks away, those hips swinging just so. Lucky, for sure.
