Entrance Post
It'd been a week since the defeat of Darken Rahl. Richard got that the people wanted to celebrate as they'd been under his rule for as long as he'd been alive. But he didn't quite understand why he had to stop everything he was doing in order to celebrate for a week straight. There were still battalions of the Da'Haran army out there that were giving the people trouble and he felt he should be out there with the rest of the Resistance fighting them.
He scratched the back of his head as he entered the room tonight's fest was being held in and paused about three steps in, because this really didn't look like where he was supposed to be. Especially since Kahlan and Zed had already entered the room and a quick glance around this place told him that they weren't anywhere he could see. That and the room had really changed since he'd been in here this morning.
A glance behind him finds the door he'd just entered through gone. Which only adds to the confusion as he shifts to an empty table with a confused look. The Seeker of Truth is very much lost at the moment. Poor fellow.

"Hi!" She smiles brightly at him and waves all excited like. Serena isn't doing anything at all useful for the bar, why not greet people? She could do that!
no subject
"Hi." There's not much said after that, partially and possibly because he's eyes catch the hairstyle and it's quite interesting.
no subject
"First time here?"
And judging by the way he'd looked behind him, she's guessing he wouldn't be saying goodbye anytime soon.
no subject
"Yea, where ever here is. This really doesn't look like the tavern hall I was supposed to be stepping into."
It will be gone just long enough to be sure that he doesn't jack rabbit back to his world without at least getting to know of the fun Bar that has interrupted his life and will eventually help change the course of his history.
no subject
"It's Milliways, the end of the universe."
She still really wishes she was kidding when she has to say it to people. She adds:
"I'm being entirely serious, really." And she is!
Could never go wrong with history changing. Ever!
no subject
His brow furrows in confusion at her words, "The...end of the universe?"
Because that can't be right. That would mean he wasn't even in the Midlands.
"How is that possible?"
Nope! Or well, we'd hope not. At least those of us plotting the rewrite.
no subject
"Yep!" She all but chirps and motions for him to follow, if he does, he gets led to the observation window. "Don't look too long, it's ... Almost a bit unsettling, but here's your proof."
Usagi figures the universe dying and then rebirthing itself is a good amount of proof. It had been for her at least?
"The bar is ... Alive, and it likes to take people from all over the galaxy or ... something, anyway, it takes people and brings them here by way of door. Can you see the one you came in through?"
no subject
He does indeed follow her. Nobody that chipper can be dangerous, especially when being helpful. The window gets wide eyes as he stares out it for a moment. The smallest, "Wow..." can be heard.
It certainly does help to substantiate what she's telling him.
It's a minute or two after she asks the question that he blinks and looks back to the empty wall with a frown, "No, I can't."
no subject
"Then you're just as stuck as I am, mister!"
And then manners occur to her.
"I'm Tsukino Usagi, by the way!"
Even if the mun is silly and forgets to use original names :l.
no subject
"Stuck?" There's a slightly unhappy sound to that one word.
"I'm Richard Cypher." There's a pause before, "It's nice to meet you, Tsukino Usagi." The name is as best pronounced as anyone who has never heard or pronounced a Japanese name can be.
no subject
"Richard Cypher?" She ... Doesn't do to well with his name at all. "If you like, you can just call me Bunny." If she remembers right, that's the English way and it might be a bit easier for him, and unlike most English words, she's just fine with that one.
no subject
At least the stumbling over names is mutual? "Bunny, I can do," He says with a smile. On top of which, not having a Japanese culture to give him the knowledge that last names come first, he might have ended up trying to call her Tsukino instead of Usagi. "It's nice to meet you, Bunny."
no subject
"Nice to meet you too!" She smiles all sparkles again, "So, where are you from?"
His name sounds American, so she's guessing there, but Milliways was pretty unpredictable, so it didn't hurt to ask.

She loves new people. They're great.
"Come on in, honey, you look like you're lost," Edie says, patting the barstool next to her, lighting up a cigarette.
no subject
There's a small amount of time between the patting of the barstool and when he actually gets up out of the chair and moves across to the bar, hand settled on the pummel of his sword the entire time. It's a comfort in the strange place. "I am lost, I think," he says as he settles onto the barstool next to her.
no subject
"Welcome to Milliways, Bar At the End Of the Universe," she says gesturing vaguely, and taking a drink of a strawberry margarita. "Basically, it's an...in, and a tavern for travelers from...all over."
no subject
"Milliways..." His head tilts slightly, thoughtful and slightly unhappy, "And how exactly does one get home with there not being a door?" Because this is really a thorn in his paw, so to speak.
no subject
"You don't until it comes back," she answers. "So, I'd suggest getting yourself a place to stay until then. Maybe someone else from your world's here already, and you can stay with them."
no subject
"My world..." His eyes go back to how she's dressed and he has to say he's never seen an outfit like that before. "I doubt there's anyone from my world here." He'd have heard about it if there had been, right?
Hope the man can hope.
"And I get a place to stay from where?"
no subject
"The same place you got the beer from," she says as if it's natural for the un-tended bar to provide. "And if you're real good, there's a few people with a really big book that can help you see if there's anyone staying here that you know."
"There are, however a few rules," she says, looking again at the weapon. "You can't go about slayin' your enemies here, you can't bend any women--or men--over the tables and have your way with them, and don't stab anybody with that. They frown on those sorts of things."
Frank Edie is frank.
no subject
"The beer just appeared out of no where..." This, clearly means his question wasn't answered. "You know the people with the big book of patrons?"
His head tilts slightly, taking in the rules. The frankness of Edie earns the smallest frown. And no, that cough isn't because that was...so blunt not even a sharpening stone would help it. "Thanks...I think." For the rules.
no subject
"Exactly the point," she responds. "You just ask for it. As to the big book, I haven't seen them around but, you can ask to see the Barmen and it should get you to who you need to see."
She watches him and chuckles. "You're welcome. It's so much more fun than: 'No outside business, No sex, and No violence' don't you think?"
no subject
He frowns slightly and looks at the bartop. "A room for the duration of my stay...?" It's almost not a question, but a room key for him does indeed appear for him. "I'll look into the Barmen." Later, though likely he'll get jumped long before he remembers to search for the Barmen and to see if anyone from his world is here.
He gives a faint smile, the corner of his mouth quirk. "You are very right. Even if I think half of saying it that way is to also get the person you are telling to blush."
no subject
She chuckles. "Hey, you can judge a lot about their tolerance for things by explaining things that way. What they can handle, what they're used to...you know."
no subject
"So it's research of a kind?" His tone is wry and a little amused.
