Bill is downstairs after some breakfast. He sits down at the counter, and before he can even ask, Bar provides him with a loaded plate; eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, a short stack of pancakes, a cup of coffee and orange juice.
Bill grins at the offering, and is about to say thank you when a newspaper appears. Looking at the front page headline his smile falls.
Mardi Gras in Miami
It's not really the headline, but the part underneath that tells how the Saints defeated the Colts 31-17 in the Superbowl that's just killed his good mood.
Bill lifts the paper and shakes his head.
"Aw, c'mon, no. I didn't even know they were playin'."

"Me?"
She shakes her head, her nose brushing his.
"I think you're confused."
no subject
He turns them in a slow circle, eyes on her and smile going nowhere.
"I don't think I am. Think I know you pretty well, actually."
no subject
Her lips wander from the corner of his mouth to his jaw, from his jaw to his ear.
"You know I'm going to keep arguing with you until you admit I'm right."
no subject
His chin tilts, inviting more contact.
"But, I like the case you're makin', so I'm gonna let you argue a little more."
no subject
"I don't know if you could handle the full presentation out here."
no subject
"But, I might be convinced t'change the settin', if it's in my interest, I suppose."
no subject
"I'm not sure I can approve a change of venue until we get in that swim I promised -- wouldn't that be against the prize rules?"
no subject
"I guess it would be, but you're not makin' swimmin' all that easy."
Tightening his hold, he adds, "Mind, that wasn't a complaint."
They'll get around to swimming, eventually.

She shifts her hips against him, slow and deliberate, her grin taking a much more wicked turn.
"Because I can move ... "
no subject
"No, that's alright," he assures her. "Think we're fine right here."
no subject
Certain he's got her, she lets her hands slide down to cup the sides of his neck, her thumbs tracing his collarbone.
"I think we might be better than fine."
no subject
"On this one, I'll admit you're right."
no subject
Grinning, she pulls back just enough to study him.
"I don't think I heard that last part, sheriff."
no subject
"I'm sayin' you're right. But, it's more like I'm agreein' with you, than sayin' I was wrong. 'Cause I wasn't."
no subject
"So what you're saying is you're absolutely full of it."
no subject
She can probably feel him draw in a breath, right before he dunks them under.
When he comes up he's laughing.
no subject
She sputters, her shoulders shaking with laughter; tossing her head, she swipes a wet curtain of blond hair from her eyes.
Coughing, "You're a dead man."

She fits herself to his back, smothering a self-satisfied grin.
"I think," and her lips brush the shell of his ear, "you just want to cuff me."
no subject
"I'm thinkin' you wouldn't mind to terribly much if I did."
no subject
She shifts against him, just enough to hook one leg over his hip, her thigh skimming his side.
no subject
"Could say you're plantin' ideas."
no subject
She shifts again, long limbs and lean muscle tangling and tightening beneath and above the water.
"Is opportunity."
Sucking in a quick breath, she yanks both of them beneath an oncoming wave.
no subject
He realizes what she's doing a split second after she does it, which means he doesn't get his mouth closed before she yanks him backwards into the water.
It takes a bit of floundering before he gets his head back above the water, laughing as he sputters.
"Cheater."
no subject
"Me?"
She gives his shoulder a playful shove.
"You started it."
