Thar be dragons Kantri here.
Kédra's hunched by the lake's edge, doing something with the sand. Why don't you ask what? He's not hard to miss.

Urquhart is utterly fascinated now.
Stealthily, he comes closer. He wants to see more, while still keeping out of the reach of the fire.

He flexes his clawed hands, letting them cool before placing them on the sand. Then he stretches, arching then extending his neck, his wings opening to their full size.
Even Kantri can get stiff muscles.

A dragon!

Right, time to dispose of this and start again. He gathers the pieces of glass into his hands and rears up into flight, circling out over the lake. He drops the pieces into a deep section then glides back to shore, landing lightly for something of his bulk.

Kédra moves to where he hasn't already used the sand and hunches to begin gathering a pile of it.
He's an industrious little (ha) dragon, isn't he?

Urquhart may be a little too fascinated and stick his head out from behind the boulder to see what the dragon is doing?
He certainly has no other name for such a creature.

"Greetings, childt of the Gedri," the 'dragon' says, tidying his pile.

Very slowly, Urquhart stands up where he is, behind that boulder. Something speaking to you does not necessarily preclude them from killing you anyway. Urquhart has often enough killed people he'd talked to.
No, but still hiding when you've already been seen, in a place that a weapon (in this case, the fire) can easily reach, is silly, and likely to provoke an attack all the more easily.
"Greetings, mighty dragon!" Urquhart says.

"Please do not call me that. Dragons eat men and cannot think." At least in his mind. He turns to the man, changing his posture so he's sitting rather primly, almost like a great cat.
"I am a Kantrishakrim, Gedri, and am called Kédra."

Anything else would be as ridiculous as that girl hiding in the tree.
'Gedri' has to be what they call humans, then.
"Greetings, Kédra," he says.

He's rather fond of boldness in humans. It certainly beats them running away screaming.

"What are you trying to make from that glass?" Urquhart asks, instead.
no subject
"I had nothing in mind," Kédra admits easily. "I am not an artist of my people, but since I have the time to learn, I thought I would try."

A dragon!
He still can't get over the sheer amazement.
