Mardi Gras, Day 1

There is a tall, leggy blonde leaning at the bar, sipping coffee and watching people.

She is wearing jeans and sneakers, and a low-cut, bust-hugging blue shirt.

She's only existed in this form since the morning, and she's very curious about life from a woman's perspective.

She might have a switch-blade knife in her pocket, but no way is she concealing a crossbow anywhere.

Approach to entertain her?

He knocks a shot back, leaning an elbow on the bar and transferring his gaze to the rest of her body as well. His eyes end up mostly levelled at her chest though.

'Everything's best if it's enjoyed fully,' he murmurs, his mouth curling up on one side.

'I'm Ramon.'

Oh, hell, name. "I'm Mary," she says, smoothly. No other Mary here.

She sips her wine. "Nice to meet you, Ramon."

He's relieved that this doesn't seem to be a person telling him they know him as an old man. Even if she weren't hot, that'd be enough to earn her a smile.

'I'm new here. You should show me around.'

He's never anything but direct and the implication is pretty clear. And to him, she's clearly making an invitation so why not?

"I'm sure the clearing with the pond is quite lovely when it's not frozen," she says, grinning a little. "I've been coming here for a month or so, so all I know is winter, winter, winter."

'I've never seen it. I've been here two days.'

He takes another shot, turning possibilites over in his head and pulling his cigarettes out of his pocket.

'Smoke?'

"Yes, please," she says, taking one as it is offered.

And waiting for him to offer her a light.

"Well, what have you seen in those two days?"

Light it he does, after his own.

'Inside of a cell. A few naked women.'

Usual sort of thing.

'What have you seen in your month here?'

[scots_wolf]

"The bar, with lots and lots of interesting people," she says, dragging on her cigarette with obvious enjoyment. "I've been exploring outside, too. There's a stable full of very nice horses, too. You can go skating on the lake, or relax by the fire."

He rolls his eyes.

'Sounds boring as fuck. I like my activities better. Or...let me guess, you're frigid and don't enjoy that sort of thing?'

She didn't act that way a minute ago. He'll be very pissed if that turns out to be the case.

"I might not be," she says, smiling sweetly. "But what would you think if I bragged about what goes on in my own room right away?"

Secretly, Urquhart is amused. Ramon still has to learn a lot about style, but he brazens that out with the pretty, at the moment.

'I think you were game and invite myself up to see for myself.'

The word brazen in the dictionary has a picture of 19 year old Ramon next to it. Mostly it's because he couldn't give a damn what they think of him - women are completely worthless to him except in one regard.

"Let's take a bottle, and go," she suggests.

Urquhart's not quite sure how far he'll go. If he doesn't like what Ramon is doing or saying, he can still knock him out and pitch him out the window. He no longer has the advantage of weight and height, but still has a few things up his sleeve.

'Good choice.'

He grins and orders a bottle - wine for her, tequila for him.

As far as he's concerned, she's his for the night regardless of what she thinks. She invited him up, she can deal with the consequences. That's just the way he is.

She smiles sweetly, and leads the way upstairs.

Luckily, the room is such that odd questions aren't very likely.
