Jean-Luc Picard enters the holodeck doors, decked out in his Dixon Hill outfit, ready to become his favorite detective. When he's dumped into a bar full of patrons that don't all look human or dressed for the era, he's confused, but decides to play along. That's why he'll be found by the fireplace, watching the goings-on with great interest.

If Picard gets the impression that Robo is smirking, just a little, that's not unreasonable.

"After you Captain," comes with a gesture towards the back.

"I never really knew what green was until I'd seen the inside of a metal ship for more than a year," agrees Robo placing his own hat on, "Space is wonderful, but you and I both were built for planets and this is very, very close. There's even a moon that come out."

Green, in the way that only the Scottish countryside comes in, and never with the mountains jagged peaks rising in the background and looking like they were nicked from the Rockies. The lake reflecting the sky above with an indeterminate coastline. Off to one side the smithy, to the other the stables, and beyond both of those the forest and the maze that Hex crafted.

"It's the two sides to the the problem, how do you appreciate home when you're never there and how do you see new things if you never leave?"

Robo spins slowly trying to see anything that might have changed since his last look.

"I suppose I'm lucky I grew up in a city then, all the interesting things come to New York eventually."

That's... one of the more unique French accents Robo's heard. It's probably a Future thing.

"That's probably the best way to tell it's real,"says Robo, "Or that it comes from reality somewhere. If I ever find who did do all this I think I might hire them to go over my facilities back home."

"I probably couldn't afford them though."

No flopping Jean-Luc here for the nap, that's what the rock by the water if for, or maybe the beach at the inlet.

"It always is," agrees Robo, "but if it's just fighting giant ants again, I think I could get away with it."

Robo himself has been known to ask 'Why do we even have a squared-cubed law anyway?' His universe has some issues and trade paperbacks.

"There was an attack in the south-west," says Robo, "I'm guessing it didn't happen in your timeline. That makes it a bit safer to divert more people into checking for a rogue bio lab in the area and away from natural causes."
