There are a lot of things that Col. Miles Quaritch has gotten used to seeing on Pandora. A non-exclusive list includes large animals grabbing his men and eating them; men suffering from all sorts of new and deadly poisonings from the native wildlife; tall blue creatures shooting arrows that can occasionally knock through bulletproof windows at just the right angle and speed; and all sorts of other things which we need not go into detail about here.

One thing he is not used to seeing is the Mess Hall transformed into a bar. It might occasionally devolve into being a pigsty in his opinion (particularly if whomever has KP isn't on the ball or is looking for trouble), but a bar is...quite unexpected. So as soon as Col. Quaritch comes through the door into a very unfamiliar room that is in place of a very familiar one, he draws his gun and reaches for his breather unit.

"What the hell sort of joke is this?"

Do understand...Quaritch is in a room that shouldn't exist on a planet full of plants and animals that want to kill every human being there. As such, he gestures for her to show him...but remains out of physical contact. "Go ahead."

He sure looks like he's not up for any jokes to be played on him.

Oh, the woman will take his hand, and gently tug him along.

To the back door, and outside into the Scottish Spring Evening, of Earth-like grass, trees and starry sky.

Quaritch looks...seriously not amused at being pulled outside, and you can bet the gun stays out as he scans around for any threats...and tries to sort out whether he's going to need to shoot this woman.

Nothing personal, you know.

Oh, she is not worried, at all. "Like I said, out of reality, dear. Welcome to the End of the Universe, an interesting mishmash of... everything."

"Mishmash of everything? What sort of everything?" If you can't guess, Quaritch is shooting for something slightly more descriptive than that.

"Oh, different countries, different times, even different worlds. Nearly everything and everyone can end up here, as far as I can tell. But, this place also seems to love surprising people."

Great. Surprises.

Quaritch looks visibly displeased at the mention of Bar's tendencies. "Surprises are usually bad. Especially in my line of work."

"Oh... oh no dear, no can do: that's rule number three, no outside business. While here, you are a Bar Patron, and you should not worry about your line of work."

"The good part is that any adversaries or enemies you have should do the same, not bring their lines of work here."

"What are rules one and two?" Quaritch asks. "Also, my experience also says surprises are bad."

"Rule number one, is 'no violence'. It must be the hardest to enforce, but the people who call themselves security do a great job." No, she is not being sarcastic, why? "Rule number two, is no nudity or indecent behavior."

Quaritch sighs. "Well, at least if that one is enforced it should be more relaxing than Pandora." He's referring to the first rule. "Just hope the Bar doesn't decide to pull in any Na'vi."

Why, you ask? Just guess...

"Well, maybe it will, maybe it will not, who knows? In five years visiting this place, what I have learned is that the strange and the unexpected happen often." She offers a hand in a normal greeting, now. "Call me Eshara, and welcome to Milliways."

"The first drink is served free."

"Well, uh, nice to meet you Eshara." Quaritch drawls this out...he's been more than a few years without having to deal with social graces more than in passing. Somehow, Pandora isn't exactly home to much in the way of social life. "What do they serve here?"

"Oh, really anything you can imagine: whiskey, beer, wine, vodka, pulque, tequila, schnapps, sake...anything, and everything is of the finest quality, unless you prefer a dose of real rotgut."

Quaritch decides to take a bit of a chance. He asks the Bar for an liquor that he'd enjoyed some years before but that was out of production and had been for some time. The drink appears on the bar, and Quaritch picks up the glass and sips it.

"Wow. Didn't think you could get that anywhere."

"Here, you can. Don't ask me how the Bar does it, but... any kind of food and drink you can imagine, if it exists somewhere, Bar can provide." She orders a martini herself: lemon drop.

Quaritch continues to sip on the drink, looking a combination of impressed, surprised, and perhaps slightly perplexed at the Bar. "Don't think I caught your name, ma'am."

"Oh, I will set it upon you again." She moves closer, looking up at the man with a mischievous smile.

She loves this part... "I am The Devil."

Blink. "The Devil?"

Cue one incredulous colonel looking at his drink as if the thing just bit him. "Right."

She moves a bit closer, her voice going for the sultry effect. "Lucifer, Satan, Beelzebub. The Prince of Darkness." Then she winks. "Well, the Princess of Darkness, anyway."

"You may call me Eshara. A certain Greek prince kindly saw fit to bestow me a name, instead of all the titles I have."

"Ok...Eshara..." Another sip of the drink. "I'd always thought of the devil as a guy. You know, in a nice suit with a mustache?" Like most depictions of him, at least.

"So.. you think priests and poets did not a good job of describing me, then?"
