....because practice really does help...

This evening, running around the bar proper and around the stables and treefort outside, is a little scruffy young boy. He's ducking and weaving around furniture, and jumping over some of the rocks outside with a little bit of ease.. It would be a pretty spectacular sight, except it's kind of ruined by the screeching black and gold minicyber-raptor running about a foot behind Tyler.

"Koh!"

Winston'd just like to know when they're going to HUNT some prey already, really.

. . .

Bumblebee's just going to facepalm while he projects the words, I forgot to tell you. There has been a great change in things at home.

The Decepticons have retreated from Earth. They have a base somewhere beyond Pluto now, Bumblebee projects. We have lost several Autobots, too.

But we have gained many more. Did I ever tell you about the space bridge?

Yes. He inhabited a Cybertronian body at the time we first activated it, says Bee's speech balloon. We dismantled it after that. But we didn't destroy the parts.

This was a good thing. Megatron had an adjutant on Cybertron, named Shockwave, and he took command of the Decepticons from Starscream. They gathered in numbers and attacked Earth in force. It got.... very bad.

Bumblebee nods.

They outnumbered us and would have overwhelmed the humans. The Army Corps of Engineers helped us get the space bridge back together. Ironhide used it to gather all the remaining Autobots he could reach, and bring them back to Earth.

Only just in time, too, says Bumblebee, whose speakers started playing the Ride of the Valkyries somewhere along the way. Few of us were left standing, and Optimus was at his very limits. The rest of the Autobots arrived in time to drive Megatron and the others back, and the Decepticons pulled out of Earth in a panic.

And then Optimus realized the space bridge was still charging, and about to overload.

Bumblebee nods.

As far and as fast as he could, before he had to stop and throw it because there was no more time, the balloon says. The explosion offlined him, briefly. When he reactivated, he was surrounded by buildings that he knew. The final overload had swapped a sphere half a mile across of everything that was on Earth's end of the bridge for a sphere of equal size on Cybertron's end.

"On the street I was passin' my time away
To the left and to the right, buildings towering to the sky
It's outta sight in the dead of night-"

That was his speakers. His speech balloon says, That's a special occasion look. Something like your Christmas decorations. Iacon is all towers and canyons, mostly metal and some glass. There are only three buildings of Earth taller than the structures of Iacon- and nearly all the city is that high. It's built for mechs of all sizes, and there are places you almost have to be a flyer in order to reach....

Optimus has opened embassies for the human nations that have expressed an interest, Bee's speech balloon says. It's easier than dealing only with the Americans, and then having to hunt down any spies from other nations who might have gone somewhere beyond their capability and gotten themselves hurt.

This is what happens when you come out of the garage to the whole world early on in your time on the planet.

Better than hiding, Bumblebee notes sagely. I would rather play politics than end up with humans trying to send us back where we came from.
