William hasn't found any more doors to Milliways for about a week and he hasn't quite been looking, it was too confusing with good food, nice people and then Wade.
This morning he's only thinking up about saddling up Les and checking the fences now that Mark's off to school. The little healing vial is tucked away in his hiding place alongside the drawing of his Pa that Wade did since he's not sure what to do with it.
When the door to the tack room opens onto the Bar, he stares at it for a while before walking up to the counter and asking for some coffee. He's not quite sure how he feels about being here, but he's here now.

Is this kind of what he'd look like if he were dressed as a cowboy? (Like, say, if he went to Miss Barlow's world for a bit?)
"... yeah. Er. I'm not you from another version of your world," he assures him. "At least I don't think so. Not unless your name's Albus Potter."
no subject
That's just a confusing thing to say.
no subject
Uh.
Has no one explained that to him?
"Is this your first time here, um. William?"
(Thank Merlin he hadn't said 'Actually, my name is Albus Potter!')
no subject
He didn't get a lot of explanation the first time.
no subject
Well, that'd explain some things, then.
"I suppose no one's told you that time and space is a bit weird here? That means um. Anything could happen, really. I've met my mum when she was my age here."

Uh.
He thinks.
Well, he's pretty sure.
no subject
It'd be odd to meet his Pa when he was younger or his Ma.
no subject
"It was," he agrees. "But it was also pretty cool. There's no other place where something like that could happen."

He doesn't think he's seen any dead people yet, but considering what he'd just said ...
"Also some of the holidays can get a bit strange, if you decide to spend them here. Um. My mate - he sort of got turned into a dog-thing a bit, this past Halloween."
Yeeeah, it was weird.
no subject
He looks around quickly, he's not sure if he wants to see his Pa.
no subject
"I ... I'm guessing there's someone you once knew whom you'd - um. Rather not see?"
no subject
They didn't really have much of a goodbye.
no subject
Albus looks appropriately sympathetic.
"I'm really sorry."
He can't even imagine losing his own father. At all. The idea is inconceivable. Albus isn't even sure what he'd do.
no subject
"Yeah, man who's fault it is here. Met him last time I came."
no subject
So Albus doesn't have to sound like a total git and make sure he knows them as a caution for the future?
He nods, anyway.
Quiet. Thoughtful.
no subject
"Sorry, just hate Wade. He might not have pulled the trigger but if it wasn't for him, my Pa would be alive."
no subject
Albus feels mightily awkward.
"And - um. I mean, it's all right to hate him, I suppose. You don't have to apologize. Just - um. Don't let it consume you. The hatred, I mean."
no subject
William keeps staring down into his coffee that's getting cold so Albus doesn't see how much he's hurting.
no subject
He's seen the way his parents sometimes get that haunted look on their faces when they think no one's looking.
no subject
Maybe talking about something else will help.
no subject
"Oh - um. It's sort of my school uniform. And in my world, wizards commonly wear robes like these too."
