It's probably fair to say that Dinah did not want to bartend today, but when you get that napkin, you get that napkin. And fortunately, she gets enough warning to get changed before coming back out to tend. With the wig on, she can get on with being Black Canary, and her personal issues won't be too much of an issue.
...or perhaps not.
...or perhaps not.

... sheltered upbringing. In every conceiivable sense of the word.

Then again, she was only in the Ninth Circle briefly when she got lost in Underworld. Ahzrukal might very well have given his drinks creative names for all she knows.
"What's in them?"

"Coffee, black, fill up the thermos?" Dinah will find a few dollars, some change, and pair of leg thermos being set onto the Bar by a man in a face concealing helmet and a voice-synteiser around his throat. "Please."
no subject
"Sure thing," she answers, scooping the money up while checkcing over her shoulder at the coffee machine. "Give me a minute? No one's ordered coffee yet and I need to get it brewing."
no subject
"Check behind the Folder's container, someone keeps a special blend back there for Security." The masked man suggests, sitting on a bar stool to wait. Black Canary can probably make out the details of a barely seen crescent moon in black on the gray of his suit.

"... that last one really describes a great number of blokes I know at my school," says James, peering thoughtfully at the specials board.
no subject
"Is it on Earth?"
no subject
James laughs.
"And it's more metaphorical, really," he explains. "Their official colours are green and silver."

Twice.
Has Dinah had another recent run-in with Skrull?
But she doesn't ask. Instead --
"What is in a Green Motherfucker?"
no subject
...that joke's probably not funny. It certainly wasn't appropriate in front of the literal minded, and Dinah regrets it.
"Creme de Menthe and rum."
no subject
"No. You would hurt yourself holding them."
It is only common sense.
Then --
"I would like a root beer float. Please."
Hold the Creme de Menthe.

He's from her future. He knows. He could have wanred her - and he didn't.
She shakes her head shortly. "I dont' want to talk about it. Drink?"

Huh.
"What do you recommend?" he asks, settling his elbows on the bar. Leaning forward like that really emphasizes just how massively built he is.
no subject
"Someone has to try an Alien," she says. "I just don't know if I can recommend it in good faith without the infirmary staff coming down on me."
no subject
"Hit me," he grins, tapping the bar with two fingers.

"Biggest beer you've got, please. And a tube of nail glue."
Someone broke one of her acrylics. And she's pissed.
no subject
As for the nail glue... it turns out that leather jacket of hers has pockets, and even in costume, emergencies happen.
"There you go. Long night?"

Late to the party - hope it's okay
Then again, different worlds, different ways, and can't most things be explained in that fashion? Here, at least.
He approaches the Bar and asks, "Does any of the specials come with particular endorsement?"
He is still wearing the blue tunic with the silver embroidery and a very thin silvery circlet, making him look very much like a creature stepped out of a fairy tale.
Totally OK - I just missed the tag!
