Sam has projects to work on; car parts to mend and a tiny sword to make so he's been sleeping better.

Today he comes in the back door grimy from the forge with the Charter Mark on his forehead gently glowing and fading and flops onto a comfortable chair by the fire.

Then he looks around for a rat to order a good and big dinner, once that's done, he starts to see if he sees anyone he knows.

Shortly thereafter, Sameth might notice James Potter waving in his direction.

"All right, Sam?"

(OOC: Quite right. Sleep well.)

He looks up with a grin,

"Yes, hello, James. Do you have automobiles in your world?"

"That we do," says James cheerfully.

Honestly, they're more of a Muggle thing, but some Wizards insist on owning one with the added flying/invisibility/etc. features.

"I'm guessing that'd explain the grime you're wearing?"

"Some of it, I was working in the forge and one project is working on some car parts for a friend's car."

"Sounds like a lot of work," James remarks.

A lot of manual labour work, really.

[makesthings]

"It is, but I end up making something that's useful."

[alotofgood]

"Cars, you mean?"

[makesthings]

"This time, yes, but also the sword's going to help protect a small person. I think he called himself a pixie."

[alotofgood]

"You're working on a sword, too? Blimey, you're a busy man, aren't you?"

James grins.

"I try to be, it makes the time go faster."

[alotofgood]

"That's true ...


"Oh! So, I still owe you that drink, don't I?"

"Yes, you do and I want to hear how things are going,"

James seems to have an exciting life.

"Brilliant. What'll you have, then?"


He does, doesn't he? Sometimes he thinks he could do with a little less of the sort of excitement he gets.

... only, not really.

Rachel, sitting nearby with a magazine, glances up as someone enters her field of vision - and immediately wrinkles her nose.

He is grimy and gross and totally sitting in a communal chair.

"There are bathrooms here," she says, pointedly. "With showers in them."

His food just arrived so he looks as he's taking a bite of his fish,

"Yes, after I eat."

"Which is when you'll also be picking up fabric cleaner?"

He looks familiar and she's fairly certain she's even met him before. But right now, Sameth is just the guy getting grease on the chairs.

"Why should I do that?"

This is how he always looks after he stops working in the forge, sooty and grimy, he doesn't have to go to a state dinner so he doesn't understand what's wrong.

Rachel lifts an eyebrow. "So you can clean up the chair you're sitting in that isn't actually yours."

"I'm not making a mess, the worst from the forge always ends up on my shirt,"

He knows, he's been lectured about how none of his shirts ever seem to be properly clean from his sister.

He remains grimy and seated. Rachel is displeased.

Then again, it's not her chair either. So getting into a real fight about it isn't a priority.

"...that's right," she says after a moment, her memory triggered. "I've talked to you before. You make stuff, right?"

Sam has his dinner, its not worth arguing for him,

"Yes, in the forge. Why?"

[theresnodoor]

"No reason," Rachel replies with a short shake of her head. "I was trying to figure out where I knew you from."

[makesthings]

"Well, I'm Bound so I'm not really going anywhere,"

Its a little better now that he has some new projects but he hates not knowing what's waiting for him and if he can do it.

[theresnodoor]

Rachel smirks, head tilted. "Well, I am too, so if someone looks familiar, it's pretty easy to guess where I know them from."

He takes a longer look at you and actually focuses and blinks, she's dead, that's why she's Bound,

"Yes, Milliways is good that way."
