[seat_five_girl]

"I would like something to eat that would last," says Ako.

What she gets is dwarf bread. That's... not quite what she's after.

"I was thinking," she tries again, "That it might only last a few months?"

This time it's the Humanitarian Daily Ration. A pallet load of them.

"...It might be time for you to take a break, Bar-san."

Anything I can make by adding water to ingredients in the box.

Said box is a large chunk of the current supply of dehydrated drink mixes.

"Happy hour is on, I guess. I'll do what I can!"

"Hey, Ako. Got anything in that box for me?

"Hello Enzo-san. I'm not sure yet," she says digging around some more, "...Dehydrated water?"

[a1enzo]

"Maybe it makes sense here."

[seat_five_girl]

"With the way things are something should."

She spoons a small amount into a cup and adds just a little water before the cup over fills and spills out.

"Ack!"

[a1enzo]

"Whoa! Well, that explains it."

[seat_five_girl]

"I'm declaring that magic and kind of a pain," declares Ako as she starts throwing towels at the spill.

Seriously, how does that even work?

[a1enzo]

"Useful if even the water starts going wrong around here, though."

Beat.

"If it does, that's definitely when we start evacuating."

[seat_five_girl]

"But where to, Enzo-san? There aren't a lot of places that could handle a lot of from Milliways."

[a1enzo]

"Best-case scenario, everyone to their own world. But if it comes to it, Mainframe is prepared to host as many as necessary. Dot okayed it and Dad gave the digimat a complete diagnostic to make sure it can handle the load, and I'm testing it and my Door daily."

Ako gives a small whistle.

"That a big thing. I hope it doesn't come to that."

[a1enzo]

"No kidding. But we'll do what we gotta, you know?"

[seat_five_girl]

Ako nods.

"Being in charge of a whole city does kind of make it easier too."

In the way that possible is easier.

[a1enzo]

"Heh. Yeah, no kidding. And Dad's keeping me geared up with containment fields and stuff, for damage control here."

[seat_five_girl]

"Thank goodness everything that can works here."

Usually that is, but let's not tempt Murphy any more.

[a1enzo]

"Yeah. That doesn't mean the fields'll be effective on everything, but I'll do my best and try to think of something else where I need to."

[seat_five_girl]

Ako nods in a sort of resigned agreement still flipping through packets in the box.

"I think this is digital," she says after a moment, "How's apple sound?"

The nutritional information is certainly more electronic in nature than not.

"It's okay. Let me smell it first to be sure?"

[seat_five_girl]

"Sure! Here."

Enzo should be able to smell apples once it's open easily enough. Ako though is stopping and ducking into the digital ingredients fridge for a pitcher of data to mix the powder with instead of anything matter based.

Sniff, sniff. "Yeah, it's fine."

[seat_five_girl]

That confirmed Ako dumps the premeasured packet into a glass as fills it part way before she starts stirring. Once everything is disolved and the glass looks reasonably full she'll pass it over to Enzo.

Suitable for flair bartending, this special is not. Alas.

It's digital, potable, and identifiable. He'll take it.

"Thanks."

"No problem Enzo-san. Do you want to grab a couple of packets for later maybe?"

[a1enzo]

"Yeah, that'd be super."

[seat_five_girl]

Ako digs out a handful of packets with the same style packaging and passes them over. Mostly apple and blackberry flavor, but that's what ends up in the box of dehydrated drinks no one remembers most of the time.

Well, those and grapefruit. Grapefruit can hang around for years and years before someone uses it.

And for good reason, but he'll take what he can get at the moment.

"Thanks. I'll spread 'em out among my stashes."

[seat_five_girl]

"In case Bar-san stops working at all?"

Which is not a happy thought, but there it is. Out in public.

[a1enzo]

"Yeah."

[seat_five_girl]

"That's a good idea," says Ako as she looks over at the stack of prepackaged food, "I... I should be able to get some of this into my sylladex."

[a1enzo]

"As long as my stashes stay intact and the digimat keeps working, I can always make more User food. You might not want it, though."

[seat_five_girl]

When the Humanitarian Daily Ration grows up it wants to be an MRE.

"Maybe, but who knows how long this might take," points out Ako, "Not that it looks like things will last long right now."

Seriously, things are falling apart faster than a first year's stall after the school festival.

Enzo's jaw sets rock-hard. "There has to be a way to fix things."

[seat_five_girl]

Ako doesn't argue. She might be tempted to knock Enzo out and get him to rest eventually, but she doesn't argue.

"If you figure out what needs to be done you'll let me know, right?"

[a1enzo]

He is at least trying to get some rest this time. He's not sleeping too well, but not for want of trying.

"You bet."

[seat_five_girl]

And Ako won't be ambushing him to force anything until the disaster is sorted out, one way or another.

"And if I hear it first I'll let you know too," she says, "Nothing says that it'll all be fixed quick though."
