The door opens and a blonde in an over-sized T-shirt and socks comes through.

She'll just keep to the edges of the... crowd until she can get to the lost and found box and scrounge up an better outfit.

All the other strange will just have to wait until she has shoes and five minutes in the washroom.

Despite being in human shape, he manages to look like he's preening.

"Glad to here. How do you like it so far?"

"Surprising mostly," admits Artemis, "My night vision is going to be shot when I go back too."

"You could close your eyes couldn't you?"

[thenewblack]

"And it'd help some," she acknowledges, "On the other hand I could take a flashlight back with me too."

"That could also work," he says with a laugh.

"That's me. The cutting edge of technology."

[fireandashesagain]

"I've always liked technology. It's pretty and shiny."

[thenewblack]

"So, what? Phoenixes are related to magpies?"

He shrugs with a bit of a smile. "Lots of birds like shiny objects."

"I guess you'd know more than me."

No feathers for this girl.

"If you read up on birds, you'd know it too."

It's not a feather thing.

"I'm from Gotham. Our city bird is probably a pigeon with some sort of disease."

He makes a face.

"Pigeons are lousy eating."

"Eew!"

[fireandashesagain]

"What? I'm a bird!"

[thenewblack]

"And I don't eat monkey."

Leave the rest of her species out of this. There is all sorts of people she is not like in all sorts of ways.

"I'm a bird of prey," he clarifies. "But I also like cherries."

"...I'm going to blame this whole conversation on my Dad."

Mostly because he's handy like that.

"Would that be helpful?" He's curious.

[thenewblack]

"He doesn't shapeshift into a bird or catch fire."

"And I need to blame someone."

[fireandashesagain]

"Oh, well, if you need to blame someone go right ahead. I don't have a father, may I blame him too?"

[thenewblack]

"I don't know," she says, "There's an awful lot that's his fault to begin with. There might not be room for your stuff too."

[fireandashesagain]

"Or he might not even notice a little bit more."

[thenewblack]

"I guess there's only one way to find out."
