"Really?" Beat. "Sure I will."

"Could I get a Manhattan please, dear?"

It's more spoken to the bar herself, before Sallie tunes in a bit more to realize that it's happy hour time -- and looks up to see someone she recognizes.

"Why hello."

"Hi," Raven answers, somewhat warily.

"And um, yeah, sure. It's definitely one of the few things I know how to make."

Thanks to Charles.

"I have a great big book that I used as a reference when I started working here, if you'd like to borrow it for your shift.

"Did you learn from Charles?"

Sallie's less than stealthy when she knows things, at times.

"Oh."

She's surprised she missed said big book, but her head whips up.

"How do you know Charles again?"

"We met here - I'm one of the Barmen, and I like to pick his brain about things."

Pun potentially intended.

"Oh. Oh."

Message received.

"He has a very interesting one. Brain. If you're into that sort of thing."

"I didn't used to be? But Charles has been helping me make sense of things.

"It's nice to meet you. Make sure I'm not going crazy."

"What, did I sound too good to be true?"

She flashes a smile, equal parts winning and wry.

"Possibly! Maybe it's nice to know that someone makes Charles stop workin' now and then."

"I consider myself a very strong opponent of too much work."

She nods solemnly.

"Of course, my dear," Sallie laughs. "But what is it that you do with yourself when you're forced out o' that?"

She grins, lifting the drink that she's half-started by now.

"Go to a bar, for starters."

"True. Bar doesn't have you working too much though.

"Maybe outside? Now that spring's here..."

"I like being outside here," she absently admits.

It's less of a city than Oxford, and the wide open spaces are more relaxing than not.

"Me too - I keep an eye on my son's horses here, but since I don't own the place, I don't have to keep track of everything."

"Speaking of ownership - "

She leans forward slightly.

"Is anyone in charge here? You know, in the traditional sense?"

"I don't know what traditional sense you mean. I'm one of the head Barmen, so I have a say in most things that happen here.

"But I don't own the place. Neither does...anyone I've ever met, actually."

"So no one knows how this place appeared? One day it wasn't here and then the next it was?"

Wherever here is. She has yet to figure that part out, too.

"Were you here for the apocalypse? I think it's like that - that the bar just...moves, somehow. Starts over again."
