A napkin appears to greet her moments later.

"Really?" Beat. "Sure I will."

"It would seem I'm generally behind the times when I come here." Given that everyone tells him the Allies win, he doesn't mind.

"Well - twenty years later, give or take."

She peers at him.

"And I'm older than I look."

"You look nineteen, if that matters." Just old enough to flirt with and not feel like a cradle-robber.

"Then I'm nineteen."

Her mouth curls into a slow smirk.

He knows better than to push such a question.

"Howard Stark."

"Raven Darkholme."

Sorry, Howard, the name won't ring a bell for her.

"Want that Manhattan?"

"Yes, please." He isn't surprised his name isn't familiar. But he is getting used to such treatment here.

"Good."

It's what she's been working on this entire time while talking to him.

"'Cause if you weren't gonna drink it, I was."

"Then I'd better drink it. It would be unprofessional for the bartender to drink her own wares." Not that he's seen too many women bartenders. Some jobs are for men, even with the war on.

"I'm not really worried about professionalism."

She grins - let's face it, at this point, it's more of a beam - and passes the drink over to him.

"Just filling in?" He thinks there aren't any actual real bartenders here.

"Bar asked, I said yes."

She's pretty easy to convince, all things considered.

"I think it's working out well so far."

He takes a sip of his drink. "Well, you know how to make a good drink. That puts you ahead of half the bartenders I've ever met."

"I'm more of a 'make what you know' kind of bartender."

Which means her overall knowledge is fairly limited, but she's willing to learn.

If that means she has to drink more, so be it.

"I'm at the mercy of others myself. Though I suppose if I just had a bottle of beer or scotch, I'd be okay." He sometimes acts like he has the refined tastes of a society go-getter. But he doesn't feel he has to put on a show these days.

"You're a man of simple tastes."

She nods understandingly.

"Nothing wrong with that. It just means you know what you want."

He laughs at that. "Don't tell anyone at home that you've figured that out. I want to fool the society reporters for a while longer after the war."

"Who would believe me?"

She grins slowly.

"I think your secret's safe."

"And if you did tell, I could just add you think you're from the future and that would probably eliminate you as a source." Yes, he does think about such things.

She lifts her hand to her chest, pretending to be offended.

"I am an incredibly credible source, Mr. Stark."

"Please. It's Howard. Mr. Stark is nowhere near here." He hopes it stays that way. "And what do you do that I would call your credible?"
