William loves the Milliways' stables as they're big, most of the horses are friendly and he can always finds some space to himself. Their barn at home does what it needs to and he has a spot for hiding stuff in it, but his responsibilities are more there.

Today he's taken care of a few chores around the barn and has been introducing himself to a beautiful mare that recently arrived. Horus is exploring and William's not too concerned about him as the forge cats keeps an eye on him when they're here.

Once he's done checking on all the horses, he plans on sitting on the back porch of the Bar with a book and enjoying it feeling like Spring.

Mary looks doubtful.

"He picked up a snake. And wanted me to come look at its head."

Strange, strange man.

"He's the cousin of the man I quarreled with at the Netherfield ball. I may have told you? He's American."

"Was it poisonous? Yeah, I think you mentioned him,"

William and his brother used to collect frogs when they were younger, snakes can be neat as long as they're not the sort that kills you.

"He said not. Something about the shape of the head and the pupil of the eyes. I took him at his word."

But she hadn't stirred a centimeter to examine the creature for herself.

"At any rate, he requested that I show him about our land while he's staying in Hertfordshire. So I've been trying to learn something of the subject so that I'll not appear completely ignorant."

"That sounds nice and snakes can be really interestin' cause they feel nice and cool. Frogs are better though, but they tend to try and escape even more. If you ever want, I know where there's a good pond in the forest with some."

Mary just stares at him.

"Men. Boys. The lot of you are strange."

William laughs because she doesn't know the joy of chasing a frog,

"You only think that cause you don't have any brothers."

[missmarybennet]

"No. I think that because you're strange."

She's losing the battle to keep the corners of her mouth from quirking upwards.

"Fascinated by snakes and frogs and insects."

[not_his_pa]

"Cause they're neat and ain't you ever gotten dirty just cause you can?"

That's half the fun, going after a frog and into the mud before getting it.
