Link has made a new friend! Kind of. The pink thing invited itself to his booth while he was at the bar getting a snack and a drink. He doesn't really care, as long as the pink thing doesn't try to mess up the wood carving he's working on, although he is rather disturbed by the thing's tendency to stare at his snack, mumbling pathetic little "Poyo"s when he does.
What does poyo even mean anyway?
Tiny tag: Kirby

The fact that she's floating by on a magic carpet? A little unusual.
She was just going to go by the booth but Link managed to catch her eye. She did a doubletake. She even backed the carpet up. And it's amazing how a person can remember something that felt like ages ago. But you don't forget things like those among your first friends at the bar at the end of the universe.
So she approaches the booth, still hovering on her carpet and wide-eyed, and dares to try her voice.
"Link?"
[OOC: Definitely not expecting Link to know who Mia is but Mia had encountered/befriended both a Link and a Zelda during her early years here.]

So he stares at her, confused.

He answered to the name. Maybe he just turned because he heard someone being called? But he looks like Link...
"Are you Link?" she tries. "I met a Link here through our mutual friend Zelda many years ago."

he is the most adorable icklest baby on the face of the multiversehis ears are not so long and pointy. Also he may have less earrings...or the same amount of earrings, distributed evenly on both ears (the narration confesses to not studying his earrings as thoroughly as she ought)."You know Zelda?"
It's as if all his confusion and uncertainty and wtf flying carpet-ty-ness has been washed away by the sound of Zelda. There's even a hint of intrigue, there. Maybe even happiness. This could mean Zelda's already been here, and he doesn't have to talk himself into telling her about the strange bar he rolled in to. And that she could even be here! Or come here! At any moment!

And when you're a mom, practically anyone can look like the most adorable icklest baby on the face of the multiverse."I do. Or did. Or something. She was one of my first friends here. We would talk, she came to visit me when I was sick, and she gave me a necklace."
Now if only she can find it. One hand goes into the opposite sleeve of her robe, searching an inner pocket for something. She produces a purse and, after shifting through its contents, pulls out a chain with a charm that unmistakably resembles the Triforce.
"I can't quite remember what she called it but I know it's important, a sign of her protection and friendship. I've always kept it with me."
no subject
"...oh."

Mia has gotten a lot better at reading people than the last time she spoke with a Link. She can kind of see that she's stepped on his toes.
The Triforce necklace is carefully replaced in her purse.
"She spoke often about Link before I ever met him. Or you. This place does a number on time and, considering that you don't remember me, it's probable that I haven't met the Zelda you know yet."
She gives a little shrug.
"Milliways is strange like that."
no subject
Now he's just confused, instead of confused and jealous. Still, the idea that Zelda, at any point in her future, would give someone else a token that important bothers him in a way he can't explain. 'I thought she was my best friend' doesn't quite cut it.
no subject
"I should probably start again," she says with a sheepish smile and idly rubbing the bridge of her nose. "Hi. My name is Mia."
no subject
Link's gaze darts away briefly, not sure what to say, and struggling with his own thoughts. Somewhere in that mess of confusion comes a question of whether he should bother introducing himself to her, considering she already knows his name.
He settles with a meek, "Hi."
no subject
Though there's the question of whether she should press on or if she should find a way to end the conversation and just leave Link be.
She opens her mouth once or twice to try again but nothing comes out.
She eventually decides on, "I'm sorry."
Because she really didn't mean to make him confused or uncomfortable or anything else he's feeling right now that isn't what he was feeling before she started talking.
no subject
He then finds himself in the same position of trying, and failing, to conjure words.
no subject
"I'll..." she starts again, vaguely gesturing somewhere with her right hand. "I'll leave you to your work."
And for good measure, she apologizes again with, "I'm sorry to have troubled you."
Maybe she'll try to talk to him again someday but...later. Much later.
Right now, she's going to steer her carpet away and, once she spies Kirby, offers him a, "Oh! Sorry if I bothered you, too," as well before floating over to the bar.

Why go back to Kagami's bitching, and Mrs. Kuroi's nagging, and her fathers's pervyness? The Bar is so friendly (sometimes), and has the best apple juice ever!
Konata looks around for someone to annoy. Not on purpose, mind. Last time she talked to a Pony. Royalty too! With a moon on her butt! Just something ... interesting.
She dropped her milk, straw still hanging from her lips, as she saw a pink marshmallow looking at some noms lustfully sitting next to a elf looking kid. Bump the boy! KONATA WANTS TO PLAY WITH TEH MARSHMELLOWZ!
She bounds over to the booth, and, in one hop, pops up onto a bar stool, and leans her elbows onto the counter, chin in palms. And smiles. Doesn't say anything ... just ... smiles.
(ooc: my AIM is Jazzadam)

It doesn't take him long to notice someone's just sitting there, smiling. That's Kirby's fault: his curious, non-covetous "Poyo" gave it away.
So now Link's gonna
stare back
no subject
He eyes widen as she lets out a shriek. Her legs fly up in the air (very unladylike) as he bar stool topples to the ground, and her along with it.
She staying lying on the ground, clutching her chest, breath hard.
She might have got the living daylight scared out of her. Or a cuteness overload. One of the two. Meh.
no subject
Then at each other.
"...poyo?" asks Kirby.
Link just shrugs.

no subject
"Hi," says Link.
"Poy," says Kirby.
no subject
"Here!" she said, smiling, then proceeds to flood Link with inane questions. "What's your name? What's the pink thing's name? What is he? Is it a he? Where is it from? Where are you from? I'm from Japan! I like anime and manga! Do you like anime and manga? Apupupuepue!"
no subject
As Link is busy trying to process which question to answer first, Kirby is busy inspecting the milk cartons with a curious "Poyo?" (It may be that he is wondering where the chocolate is, and why there's no chocolate, and what good is milk without chocolate?)
"...huh?" is all Link can manage to get out after a moment.
no subject
Konata says, very slowly ... almost too slow.

gotta love that automatic babelfish and its tendency not to explain what language other people are speaking in

Link: as good at math as Captain Waddle Doo.

" Jeez, what a pain!" she thought.
And idea comes in her head.
She pulls out a notepad and pencil from her pocket. (She has very deep pockets. They're bigger on the inside.) She scribbles a few lines on the page, and shoves it over to link, along with a number two pencil and Scantron sheet.
Dafuq? Where does she GET these things from? And, furthermore, WHY does she keep these things around?
"Here!" she said, smiling. "Fill out this questionnaire! It's the questions I just asked you, wrote down for your convenience! Now you can take your time! Aren't I nice?"
She pulls out her GameBoy.
"I'll just play this until you finish." She kicks her legs upon the counter, and leans back in the stool. She turns the GameBoy on and waits for Link to finish the questionnaire.
Well, he did want her to slow it down, right?
no subject
Kirby, however, picks up the pencil and starts doodling over the paper without regard for things like space and...doodles...not going through...questions...

"Whatcha working on?"
