Happy Hour, Cubefall Edition!
It's been a pleasant enough month. After all the hullabaloo of the Shindig cleared out, Kate took some time to herself to relax. She's been around, in and out of the stables as usual, but mostly sticking to the libraries and her room.
She's pleased when she comes downstairs and gets a reminder of just what the date is.
The familiar screen pops up:
Hello! Welcome to Milliways. Today, Milliways marks the Cybertronian holiday of Cubefall, the anniversary of the day upon which the Allspark first landed on the rocky world that would become Cybertron. Would you like to sample some possible reconfigurations? (y/n)

Kate grins, taking some time to pore over the choices. The robot is a little unsettling; the horse is tempting. She was a fella two years back for the holiday, and she actually quite enjoyed the experience. Folk always like to compare what a woman can do to what a man can do. Getting some actual idea of what the differences really are...
She chews on her lip, and hits the series of buttons it takes to reconfigure her. Hell if she won't have some more fun with this.
When it's done, a napkin pops up on the Bar.
"Y'jus' like askin' me when I'm tall 'nough t'reach the shelves, don't you?" 'he' grumbles, not without amusement.
He leaps over the counter spryly, and quickly scribbles up a few specials.
Happy Hour Specials:
Robot Cocktail
Fluffy Duck
Gender Bender Shooter
Bourbon
Ice Cream
Bourbon Ice Cream
Build something for half off your drink, and an extra shot of good luck.
"Bar's open! Yeehaw."
[ooc: Open until the next Happy Hour post, or until it scrolls off the front page. All are welcome, threadhopping is encouraged, zaniness is practically required. Have fun! ^__^]

It seems natural reaching for Teja's hand, opening the door for her.

She's got a towel over her shoulder, but it's too small to cover much. The towel is dark red.

At least it's warm out, even though the sun is going down.

"We might go to the warm beach of the white sand, where the ship that ferries the dead sometimes makes berth," she says.
no subject
Of course, what she says has him arching an eyebrow.
"That ship carries dead folk?"

The realization strikes him. He never knew that's what the pirate ship was. Sadly, he's never encountered its captain.
"Well, I think the inlet's a smart idea. Might want t'keep off the ship, though."
He smirks.

Eventually, he turns to look at Teja.
"That'd be a real sad day."
no subject
She smiles up at Kate.

Grinning in return, he guides them along the sand, avoiding driftwood and stones. He doesn't let go of Teja's hand until they're at the water's edge. The moon is glinting off the waves, sky still pale with the last glimmer of sunlight.
"Might've been more appropriate when we still had drinks in our hands, but I'd like t'propose a toast. T'many new experiences t'come."

He's just glad that this time around it's something positive, rather than the desperate conditions that drew them together in the first place.
He shucks off his clothes, tossing them back in the sand, and his grin turns mischievous.
"Last one in's a rotten egg!"

"Don't let the mermaid bite you!"
no subject
"There's a mermaid?"
Hey, now. That's cheating.
Kate heads into the water anyhow, surprised at how far out just two strokes get him with these arms. Behind them, a cowboy hat cartwheels across the beach.
no subject
She, on the other hand, is somewhat astonished that her reach is shorter, and her swimming strokes not as long or strong as they usually are.
no subject
"I'm more an' more glad I ain't a sailor after talkin' with you."
He grins. Between the ship of the dead and the sailor-eating mermaids, Kate won't be eager to set sail any time soon.
"Hoo-wee, why's the water always colder than y'think it's gonna be?"

It's kind of nice, being out here after sunset. The sky's real pretty tonight, and it feels good being able to relax.

He cuts a bashful gaze at her.
"Guess I made a good suggestion, then."
His voice is flat. He won't confirm or deny anything, but she may claim victory enough when his response is to send a spray of cold seawater at her.
no subject
So she blushes at her own words, on second thought, unseen as well in the gathering darkness. And secondly, of course she sends back a wider sp0lash of water with her feet right away, as not fighting back is not in her nature.
no subject
"That ain't — !"
He was gonna say 'fair', but just because Teja thought of it first doesn't make kicking bad form. He laughs, and snatches at one of her ankles.

He don't stop fighting, though. With one grand sweep of his arm, he sends a veritable tidal wave in her direction.
