[OOMs: Night One, in which Loki plays bingo and Weyland decides to stay for a while (which is a euphemistic way of saying the story's nothing but sex and drugs), followed immediately by Loki's School for Wayward Girls, lesson one: gender and strength (no warnings there, much to Skaði's disappointment), and immediately following that: action is go]

But Pyrrha doesn't know about any of that, and she's the shape in which Loki comes down to the bar tonight. She's more subdued than usual, but you wouldn't know it to look at her--between her ridiculous boots and the crimped-and-teased-and-AquaNetted big-goth-hair she's got going on, she hits just over seven feet tall today, and that's not counting the feathers she's got stuck in her hair (that admittedly look a bit like a bird lost a fight with her hair, but she's okay with that). She's also got her usual tiny shorts, a faded Love & Rockets shirt (band not comic) and a small backpack she'd made to look like a cartoonish cute stuffed zombie doll (the zipper's in its neck).

Anyway, she does her drunken-marionette-runway-stomp up to the bar, to order herself a cherry coke slushie (with an umbrella) and a chicken sandwich with fries. She's very hungry for some reason.

Botherable.

"I do," Teja says. "I always like to see what others make. None may create in emptiness."

"It feels good in here," she says. "I can--I'm not just being everything for other people, I can do what I want to do, I can explore things with my art and within myself, you know? You can't really make anything if you don't put anything in. That's how you create, you put things in and stir them and cook them and then turn them into something new."

"And if none are making other art around you," Teja says, "then that which you put in is much more limited."

"Well, I gave other people inspiration," she says. "It's what I do, I guess. But they never returned the favor, and anyway it's hard to do much creating when you don't have a steady home. Either you have to be quick, and willing to leave whatever you made behind when you move on, or you can only make things small enough that you can take them with you. I can do long-term work here."

"Would you wish for your own space on a workbench here, for whatever you do not wish to spread itself through your room?" Teja offers.

[scarred_grin]

"If there's space nobody's using, and it wouldn't be in anybody's way," she says.

And after a pause, "Would you be able to help me, maybe teach me a little? There's an outfit I'm working on, and I want it to have a metal framework to help hold it up, but I... I wouldn't even know where to start with it."

"Yes to both," Teja says. "It shall be a pleasure, and inspiration for my own work."

"I want to make a..." she begins, and gestures vaguely.

"Do you ever watch movies? 'Cause it'd probably be easier to just show you what I'm trying to capture than to explain it."

[ostro_goth]

"I have not fallen into the habit," Teja says, "I only sometimes watch squid TV. But I could, if there is something to be shown to me? I think the way of telling stories visually is not so different, between human and sentient squid."

[scarred_grin]

"I haven't seen the squid," she says. "I haven't really watched anything since I got here. But I used to watch a lot of movies, older movies mostly, when I'd be staying at somebody's house during the day working on stuff. Older movies and educational shows."

"And there is one," Teja says, "which mentions a thing alike to what you would make?"

[scarred_grin]

"It's some of the imagery," she explains, "but more than that, it's the feel of the whole thing. I want it to be a sort of homage, you know? Not an exact copy. Basically I want to be a robot demon thing."

"What is the movie called?" Teja asks.

[scarred_grin]

"Metropolis," she says. "It's a silent movie, with an evil robot and a devil machine and--oh, you should just watch it, it's really good. It's one of my favorites."

"Then we should," Teja says.

[scarred_grin]

"We just need to get a copy, then," she says with a smile. "And some pizza. I do like pizza with movies."

It's her movie food of choice, ever since that popcorn incident.

"And something to watch it on, a computator or TV to ourselves," Teja says.

[scarred_grin]

"I've got a TV in my room. It's not the biggest, but it works I guess--I usually just have music on when I'm working on things, and I'm usually working on things when I'm in my room, so."

She shrugs lightly. "I should warn you my room's a mess."

"As any creative space is," Teja says. "I mind not."

[scarred_grin]

"You say that now," she says with a chuckle. "At least there's no food to worry about up there. But I lose pins sometimes, so you'll want to wear shoes."

She also frequently finds things in her bed that either she didn't realize she'd misplaced or has no idea where they came from. But that's another story.

Teja looks at his feet.

"Will those do?"

He wears thick-soled Roman caligae, as he mostly does.

"Ooh, I like those."

She grins.

"They'll do just fine. And I'll vacuum before you come over, so hopefully that'll get any pins that are hiding anywhere."

[ostro_goth]

"Would they not destroy the cleaning device?" Teja says.

[scarred_grin]

"The pins, no. But I have to be really careful about losing thread, that gets all wound up around things and I end up having to cut it all out."

Which is why she doesn't vacuum her room very often. That and the fact that Fina doesn't care how messy her room gets, as long as she keeps the door closed.

"Indeed, then I would be grateful if there were no pins to sit in," Teja says.
