The specials show up on the board the minute he gets there. Bartending's fun -- at least he had fun the last time he was back here -- and if nothing else, he'll have paid off that new set of clothes Bar gave him after his trip to Ellen's world. The last thing he wants is to be known as some kind of freeloader. He's always paid his way, ever since he was seventeen and found himself alone, and there's no reason he'd stop doing it just 'cause he's stuck here.
Tonight's Specials
Easy Action
Between the Sheets
A Goodnight Kiss
The specials make him laugh but hey, they're kind of appropriate and at least they go in progression. He adds one more thing to the board before setting up shop for the duration:

"So. Keeping in mind I have no frakking idea what the geography of Earth is like, how'd you get from there to its moon on just another Tuesday? And what did the alien do to deserve getting his ass punched?"
Or maybe it was his one eye that got punched. Whatever, man, it's still a story in the making.

"As for Allen - that's the alien - it was a big misunderstanding. He was supposed to test a planetary champion, only he was supposed to go to Urath, not Earth. Earth isn't even part of the Coalition that Allen works for. It wasn't until I was able to actually ask him why we were fighting that we figured out where the screwup was."
"Personally, I'm glad we didn't have to finish the fight. Fighting in free fall is hard, and I don't think anyone else has hit me that hard."

For all he knows, Invincible didn't use a shuttle or any kind of ship to do his flying. He's pretty sure he remembers something from their last conversation about flying around a billboard, so who knows. It doesn't even matter.
"For all that I used to get beat to shit playing ball, I'm really not much of a fighter. I'd be right there with you when it comes to trading punches."
That... that's about all he can say about the whole situation. The whole concept of someone being a superhero? Far from normal where he's from. Really far from normal.

Mark thinks for a second. "I guess I should think about some kind of training. Boxing or something."

"There's this lady here, her name's Dinah. About so tall, dark hair, great smile. She's a boxer. She could probably give you some pointers."
He's supposed to do the same, but now that they're on different teams, Dinah might not want to keep going but he bets -- he'd put money on it and everything, if he had any -- that she'd be glad to go up against Invincible. They're both superheroes, to start with.

Allen was the first person who took what Invincible could dish out. He's not sure if that was durability or skill, or both.

She does travel with a family of superheroes, so she must have a superpower of her own. Other than being too godsdamn cute for her own good, that is.

"Thanks," says Invincible. "I better get back to my homework. The time stop is nice, but I need to get this done before I can get to bed. Later." He picks up his drink and heads back over to his table.
