thekidfrombrooklyn: (overcoat - drawing)

(no subject)

Steve came to Milliways on purpose this time.

He's outside by the lake, sitting on a rock near the shore. (in the back of his mind, it may be because he has no desire to run into the vampire again.) He's working on preliminary sketches for three different drawings, and singing to himself in a passable baritone.

The first is an oceanscape--the Pacific Ocean on a fine day, the waves rolling to a nearly empty beach. Only one dark-haired figure is one the shore.

The second is a play on one of the Captain America trading cards, with YOU CAN DO IT written at the top in large, friendly letters.

The third, his current project, is of a young man playing guitar. It's the most intense of them all, with dark lines and negative space. The musician's expression is as focused as Steve's.

As he draws, Steve sings under his breath, "'Night and day, you are the one, only you beneath the moon and under the sun...in the roaring traffic's boom or the silence of my lonely room, I think of you...night and day...'"

[ooc: Open all day, though I will be in and out periodically.]

That makes two of them, then. Plus the added confusion of Milliways making everyone speak the same language, or sound that way.

Not that the Huntsman's realised that yet.

"Sorry," he says after a moment. "I'm keeping you from your drawing." His cheeks flush a little as he looks down at the picture of Orpheus again. His mind's still a whirl, and he's not sure if he wants to seek out the young man. God. Thing. Or whether he wants to keep avoiding him.

"You should," he says. Not that Orpheus' ego needs any more stroking, of course. He frowns at Steve, shaking his head a little.

"What do you mean?" The Huntsman is oblivious to what's happened to Orpheus - hasn't seen him in days.

The Huntsman blinks. Teja's on the Security team, and he didn't mention any fights.

"Is he alright?" He asks, softly. No matter his own complicated feelings about Orpheus - he still hopes he's not hurt.

He frowns. "Why did he fight with Security?" He didn't get into trouble for dueling with the little troll man, or for trying his hand against Theresa. He's curious as to what Orpheus did to upset them.

The Huntsman goes very, very pale. And very, very still.

"The man who threatened him," he says, very quietly. Through gritted teeth. "Was his name Teja? Dark-haired, gloomy, carries an axe?"

"I work for him," he says, jaw still tight.

This is his fault. Teja's taken what he said in confidence, and Orpheus has ended up hurt because of it.

The Huntsman bows his head, looking as if he might be close to throwing up.

He tenses, sitting up straight again and getting to his feet.

"Where is he?" He asks.

The Huntsman bites back a growl of frustration. Very well - Teja first. Then the cells. Hefting his axe over his shoulder, he heads for the main door to the Bar, face grim.
