Amy reads the napkin she receives this evening over twice, then grins and Cheerfully agrees.

She ties an apron on over her very grand dress and thinks for a moment before writing on the specials board:

Your first drink is compliments of the bartender.

Amy tracks down a bottle behind the bar, pours it into a proper stein, and sets it in from of Alex.

"You're not from a kingdom, then?"

"Truth be told, we got rid of our king over 200 years ago. Nothing against the good ones, mind you. But he wasn't good to us. And we do fine with democracy in the USA." Wow, beer in a stein!

"Oh, you're an American," Amy says.

She knows about America.

She smiles.

"Well, my husband is a very good king.

"For what it's worth."

"This is really good beer. Really good." Different, somehow.

"How big a kingdom you and he run?"

"Larger than some, smaller than others," Amy says.

And as big as the current plot requires.

"Most of it isn't more than about a three days' ride from the capital.

"And big enough to keep us busy."

"So just a few thousand people. That's pretty tiny next to any countries we have in my day." So either from a fairy tale or from the past. Which are nearly the same thing, as far as he can tell.

"Oh, no, dear," Amy says.

"There are far more than that many people just in the capital."

"Then we're talking like 30 or 40 thousand?" He has no idea about such things. The past is a very distant country to him.

"I'm guessing geography isn't your strongest suit," Amy says.

Or possibly numbers.

"Ambergeldar is smaller than France, but larger than the Netherlands."

And that is as specific as the mun is able to get.

"And it's Europe.

"And I never heard of it."

Yeah, he's not so great at geography. But he can still find something bigger than Holland on a map.

"I think my world isn't yours."
