Dinah comes up from the garage, wiping grease off her hands onto a rag, which she leaves with the bar in exchange for an egg cream. It's not really a fair trade.

She's dressed for shop work: hair pulled back from her face, dirty jeans and a Green Lantern T-shirt that's stained from where she's wiped her hands as she went.

Go on, ask her if she can recite the oath.

Dinah frowns, but mildly. She's heard of worse happening.

"I'm glad you're better now," she says.

"So am I," Urquhart says. "But be glad you missed the entire shenanigans."

"Oh, I am," Dinah says. "It can't be more exciting than aliens who think we're trying to enslave the world."

"Aliens..."

Urquhart pauses, trying to parse the situation.

"Aliens thought you were trying to enslave their world?"

"Well, it's not exactly their fault," Dinah says. "Someone with a grudge against us told them."

"So the aliens came over to try and keep you from what you weren't actually trying to do, and the third party was leaning back enjoying the spectacle?" Urquhart guesses.

"Yeah," Dinah says, faux-brightly. "What made it most fun was the power-mimicking abilities they had."

"So the third party came in pretending to be whatever party was losing at the moment, to keep things going?" Urquhart guesses.

"No," Dinah says, frowning as she untangles the confusion.

"The aliens were mimicking our powers."

"How did that work?" Urquhart asks.

"Alien technology."

It's an answer for so much of Dinah's life.

"I just found myself fighting someone with a sonic scream, and martial arts abilities."

"Fight somebody who is the mirror of your own skills?" Urquhart says. "That's perfidious."

"Yeah," Dinah agrees. "Just another day in the life, I guess."

"In the life of your average super-hero, I guess," Urquhart agrees, echoing her tone.

"Who are you calling average?" Dinah counters, facetiously.

"Well, there's quite a number in your world, isn't there?" Urquhart asks, grinning.

"There are," Dinah admits. "But not every one is a Justice Leaguer."

"I don't really know about those fine distinctions..." Urquhart says. "But I know you're special.

Beat.

"Because you're you, and my friend. No other superhero from your world is."

Dinah grins fondly, and her eyes drop.

A second later she's punching him affectionately in the shoulder.

"Don't you forget it."

"No, I won't!" Urquhart promises, laughing. "Nobody can possibly forget what superhero they're friends with!"
