"No problem. When you find what you're looking for, get out your knife. In case the roll isn't already sliced."

Autor manages to locate what he needs under the bar and slice the rolls neatly. His knife work is, surprisingly, quite good.

"And now we need the meat, I suppose?" he asks. "I assume that's in the refrigerator?"

"Freezer. Unless someone made some up earlier with the intent to fry them tonight."

Now he's really getting hungry.

Autor frowns as he peers into the freezer. He soon extracts a bag of frozen meat discs with the label, 'Frannie's Fresh Hamburger Patties'.

"I assume these are them," he says. "How do I cook one?"

"Oh, well, that's easy enough. Step one: open the bag. Step two: remove two patties from the bag. Step three: close the bag and return it to the freezer."

Autor's eyebrow twitches. He pre-emptively gives himself the equivalent of a gold star for not beaning the jerk in the head with the meat discs.

"So I assume they'll spontaneously combust once they hit the air and be cooked enough not to give you food poisoning?" he says icily, and does as instructed.

"Now what?" he says, holding one of the patties up in a napkin. Oh, ew. "Do you want me to throw this in the oven, or is there a special way to go about cooking it?"
