It's funny. He cares deeply about Sallie. But somehow the idea that there is someone else in her life doesn't hurt that much. Absence does not always make the heart grow fonder. Or jealous.

Later, he'll ponder what it means that his not-thing with Sallie is done. For now, he will just be glad about things. Which in itself makes him glad. (He will have to thank X for her unexpected words of wisdom.)
