Stiles Stilinski's First Entrance (for real this time!)

Stiles Stilinski is trying to solve one of the greatest mysteries of his young life, and he's six now, so he's knows from mysteries. Mom and Dad are taking him to a baseball game (Go Beacon Hills Bluebirds!), but he can't find his baseball glove anywhere.

He runs back into his room—Dad says if he's not ready in five minutes they're leaving without him—double checks under the bed, then pulls open the closet. It looks like he took a wrong turn on the way to Narnia, cause he's just walked into some sort of restaurant, and some of the people there definitely don't look like they belong in Beacon Hills.

He reacts pretty much as you'd expect a boy this curious and enthusiastic about the world would.

"This is so cool!"

"Magic, the good sort of magic,"

William pushes out a chair at his table for Stiles, he's eating some cookies as he reads and there are too many for just him.

[whatisastiles]

"Coooool," he says, trying to climb up onto the chair and almost knocking it over in the process.

"Can you do magic?"

[not_his_pa]

"No, I can't do any. I"m pretty borin' compared to other folks here,"

He shifts his foot to steady the chair.

"Do you have a magic closet too?"

[not_his_pa]

"No, I never know where my door's goin' to show up but its usually in the barn."

[whatisastiles]

"You have a barn? That's awesome!"

Stiles went to a barn once for a class field trip. Miss Miller wouldn't let him ride the pigs.

"Do you have horses? And chickens? And cows? Can you milk a cow?"

"Horses and a herd of cattle. I can but don't do it too often cause my family's cattle are raised for meat. And that's usually one of my brother's chores."

[whatisastiles]

"Like hamburgers?!" Stiles loves hamburgers, especially with curly fries.

"How old is your brother?"

[not_his_pa]

"Fifteen, he's only a few years younger than me. Yeah, like that though we don't eat 'em in my time."

[whatisastiles]

"Fiff-teen?" he says, impressed. That's really old, like almost as old as Dad.

"How old are you?"

[not_his_pa]

"Seventeen, what about you?"

[whatisastiles]

"Seven-teeen?? Whoa. You're like a grown up," he says.

"I'm six."

[not_his_pa]

"I try to be. Six, you're growin' up fast. What's your name?"

[whatisastiles]

"Stiles Stilinski!" he says with a grin.

It's a mouthful, and he's proud of his ability to pronounce it properly now.

"I'm William Evans and that's a good name. Folks won't forget you with it."

[whatisastiles]

"Hi William Evans," he says. "I like you."

"Do you have a nickname? Stiles is my nickname, cause my real name is stupid."

"Sometimes I get called Will but that's about it. Stiles, that works. Where are you from, Stiles?"

Its nice to be liked so quickly and Stiles' enthusiasm is fun.

"Beacon Hills! It's in California. Do you know where that is?"

[not_his_pa]

"Yeah, California's where there's gold and folks are always goin' there cause its by the ocean and green. I'm from Arizona Territory,"

[whatisastiles]

"Do you live in the desert? Is it hot? It's not very hot in Beacon Hills."

[not_his_pa]

"I do, yeah and it is awful hot."

[whatisastiles]

"Why don't you move somewhere less hot?"

[not_his_pa]

"Cause the dry air's good for my brother and it'd be expensive to move someplace else."

[whatisastiles]

"Oh."

"Do you like baseball?"

[not_his_pa]

"I know of it but haven't played it much."
